Hi all,

Here is the best list I can compile of relevant events next July-August.
Please let me hear your opinions of what dates you think we should do
for the open water swim. My thoughts were to have it in between the
Sourdough and Pennock so it could be used as a tune-up for the latter,
so I would go for July 18. I think any date before late June will be
pushing it on water temperature.

June 20 - Midnight Sun Run
June 27? - Masters long course meet (Date is not set, this year it was
June 28, but previous years it's been at the end of May)
July 4 – Independence Day Run
July 11 – Sourdough Triathlon
July 18 – Run and Soak
July 25 – Golden Mile (and Golden Days Parade)
August 1 – Run of the Valkyries
August 2? - Triathlon state champs (Anchorage; don't know date for sure,
but it was August 3 last year)
August 16 - Pennock Island, Ketchikan (8.2 mi, state's only other open
water swim)

The Northern Area Aquatics triathlon will be in there somewhere. They
have not set a date yet; this year it was on July 27, but the two years
previous it was the Sunday before the Sourdough triathlon. It does seem
to always be on a Sunday.

So, please let me know your preferences. I've attached what people
seemed to favor as a course map (white line is 1K course, yellow line is
5K course).
