swim meet; please respond   Message List

Hi all,

In some discussions over the weekend there was some interest in 100s and
the 200 IM in addition to the sprint distances for the meet with the
Nanooks. So, here's how we'll approach the swim meet. We'd like to
get feed back from everyone on whether they would like to participate
and what events they would like to swim. Then, we'll let that dictate
how many events there are, and what those are. For example, each
individual event will have 3 entrants from our team. Typically, in a
dual meet swimmers are limited to 3 events and a relay, or 2 events and
two relays. So, if we have 10 people who want to do a full complement
of events, and they mostly wanted to do sprints, then we'd basically
have enough for 7 individual events and two relays. If the individual
events are mostly sprints, we might let someone do three individual
events and two relays. There will also be a couple of fun events, like
brick diving or underwater relays. Once again, the meet with the
Nanooks will be on December 6 at 9 a.m..

So, please send to me and Brian, by a week from Tuesday (November 11),
how many events you would like (or are willing?) to participate in, and
what those are in order of decreasing preference. Please select from
the following list:

200 medley relay (also list the stroke you prefer)
500 free
100 breast
50 fly
100 free
50 back
200 IM
100 fly
50 breast
100 back
50 free
100 IM
200 free
200 free relay

Please participate and agree to do at least one event even if you don't
think you can keep up with the Nanooks. The scoring will be such that
you will score points just for completing the event, and the meet will
be fun for all. Also, please beat the bushes and let us know if there's
someone not on this email list who would like to participate. After we
get responses, we'll get together and try to figure out how many events
we can support and what those might be, and we'll report back to you
before finalizing the event list.

Once again, please get back to Brian and I by Tuesday, November 11.

Our emails are:
Robbie - rherrick@...
Brian - briandavidyoung1@...
(Note that if you just hit Reply to this email that it will go to all of
the FAST masters and not just Brian and I)

Thanks,
Robbie
