Grande wins second WTA title <br><br>October 21,
2001 <br><br><br>BRATISLAVA, Slovakia (AP) -- Rita
Grande of Italy won her second WTA title Sunday, routing
qualifier Martina Sucha of Slovakia 6-1, 6-1 in the final
of the $110,000 Eurotel Slovak Indoor.
<br><br>Grande, who is ranked 38th, had no trouble with her
opponent or a crowd strongly behind the local favorite.
Sucha was playing in her first WTA final.
<br><br>``This match did not go as I imagined it might,'' said
Sucha, who is ranked 76th. ``But I am very happy to have
made it to the finals.'' <br><br>Grande, seeded
fourth, began well against Sucha, challenging at the net
and hammering powerful backhands. Sucha could do
little better in the second set. The Slovak finished
with 38 unforced errors to 11 for her opponent.
<br><br>Grande's only other title came in Hobart, Australia, in
January. She earned $16,000 for this title.
