I'd suggest two solutions that don't require mounting on the bike at all:
1) for light, a strong headband light - I use the Petzl Tikka XP, bought at REI
when it was on sale. Note: This is a great second light even if you already have
a bike-mounted light, as it points wherever you look, and can mount either on or
under your bike helmet.
2) for computing, a Garmin Forerunner 305 wrist-mounted GPS, bought on sale at
the Chicago Accenture Triathlon. Its ability to plot a map of your route, and
track your heart rate makes it better than most bike computers, but less likely
to be stolen when the bike is parked because it goes where you go.

can't knock me over when he wants to chase after a squirrel!

Which is nice cuz I can wave it any direction to get attention, especially when
I need to signal for a turn. BUT, it would be nice to have one I don'thave to
hold. I just want it to be removable. I don't want to ride around ALL the time
with some big thing protruding from the bike stem.

how far I'm riding and how fast I'm averaging. But most of them look to
expensive or too tiny.
