Instead of going to bed, I was motivated to quickly draw up my design idea in Sketchup. It's a 3D model.
My concerns are (and should be common to Draftmaster in general)
- what prevents the rack from swaying side to side about the hitch?
- some kind of tie-in to the roof rack?
- some kind of angle reinforcement between the hitch insert and the vertical tube on the rack
- draftmaster includes another long vertical support
- vertical gusset plate?
- how to vertically support the red BikeE?
John- how does the clamp on your rack work? Turn the T-bar and screws into a threaded insert? Spring loaded?
I'd love to explore these concepts a little more if anyone else is interested, I will be on BentRider Online too. I'm tired of stuffing the USX inside the car all the time and digging out the trailer is not trivial for daily use. Major PITAs.

From looking at the pics, piecing together the rear and side views, I can only see one point of contact between the hitch rack and the bike frame, right beneath the bike pivot bolt area. With only one point of contact, don't the bikes sway in the wind causing the rear wheels to hit the bumper? How does it ride with only one trike on it?
I like the hand crank lowering the rack, eliminating the need to pick up the entire weight of the bike. I'm able to pick the weight up, so this can be a big design reduction for me. My initial thoughts for the rack tend towards using this loading scheme with the rear wheels still at the bottom http://www.members.shaw.ca/gmerkley/bent/Rack.htm, but with this kind of rack frame http://www.cabinwood.net/DraftmasterRack/
John, you've obviously chosen a completely different approach that uses a lot less metal, so I'm interested in exploring your design more.

I had this made to carry two USX Trikes. It will also carry the SX or
AX as well as the EZ 1 series.
Just roll your trike to the hitch, rise it vertically, alaign, clamp
and turn the handle to raise the whole affair.
I used it on my trip to Florida. Worked great.
