I will be adding electric power assist to my USX and I am considering 2
options:
a. mid frame mount (ala electro-cycle e-4 motor)
b. Front Hub motor on the front 20 inch wheel
I like the concept of the mid-frame approach as that lets me use the
rear gears for torque/speed trade-offs.
The front hub approach is probable the easiest to implement, but I am
concerned with the weight distribution on the USX that the front wheel
will spin out especially on a hill.
I would appreciate any comments/recommendations.
