Who are we?

expaTRIes - The English-speaking virtual triathlon club in France

expaTRIes is a virtual triathlon club for English-speaking people who want to take part in swim-bike-run events in France. We aim to bring together English-speaking triathletes from all over France providing easier access to events facilitating the exchange of ideas and the sharing of experiences. We also aim to make life easier for people who do not live in France but who like to take part in French races.

The club was formed in 2007 and is registered with Ile de France Triathlon League and affiliated to the French Triathlon Federation. A full French triathlon licence can be taken out through the club.

Most existing French clubs are focused around their elite athletes; our goal is not to win the national league but rather to encourage people who might otherwise not train or compete whilst in France, to get out there. Our membership is comprised primarily of international managers between 30 and 45 who juggle triathlon between professional and family responsibilities. The club is a source of motivation for them to go train and race.

The club's registered head-office is in Neuilly-sur-Seine on the western edge of Paris, however, we take part in events all over France and the on-line forum allows triathletes wherever to be a real part of the club.

Although technically it is a "closed" group for members to share triathlon and multisport information, we welcome anyone who fits or wants to fit the above description.
