I see we're back in the winner's side of the ledger, for this round,
anyway.

Ever since late April, I've been having trouble with my throat, and I
don't know what it is.

I went to my physician on May First, he said it's because I'm not
taking my acid reflux medicine. I told him, "That's because I've been
laid up with a broken leg!"

He put me back on that, but nothing changed.

I had to change doctors three times before my vocational rehab
counselor told me to go back to the original doctor. Which I did.

I saw him again on June 30th, and he referred me to a throat specialist.

I finally saw the throat specialist on July 27th, he examined me and
said there was nothing wrong!

Then why do I still have this raspy hoarseness?

The next day, I called my insurance carrier. I live in Tennessee, and
I can't afford regular health insurance, so the state has TennCare to
pay my bills, assigning me to TennCare Select.

So I called TennCare Select, three times!

The first two times, I was given listings of doctors in the
Knoxville/Knox County area, where I live, along with a list of throat
specialists, and with every call to them, I found they won't honor
TennCare Select!

The third time I called them, I asked them to get me a doctor somewhere
in Tennessee that will honor the brand, so I can get this taken care
of, and they wouldn't do it!

I told them off!

Then, I called TennCare directly, in Nashville, and I told them what
happened.

I was told that they would change my insurance, but I had to call every
doctor in the county to see which policies they honor, then call
TennCare back and make the change.

I asked, "Don't you have all that on file there in Nashville?", and
they said, "No, the insurance companies do."

I said, "You're supposed to have that there, that's your job, you're a
state agency."

I was told, "No, that's your responsibility."

I told them a scenario wheras I go to another doctor, out of state, and
he refers me to another throat specialist, out of state, and he finds
an inoperable tumor the size of Alabama, and I drop dead in six
months! That will be on their conscience, if they have one!

I was told that remark was uncalled for. On the contrary, it was
called for!

If any of you, even Rachel, can help with this, please try, I will
appreciate it.

Thank you.
