ATLANTA (AP) - Allen Iverson returned to the
Philadelphia 76ers' starting lineup Tuesday night after
missing two games with a sprained thumb. <br><br>Eric
Snow was supposed to be back in the lineup against the
Atlanta Hawks, too, but the point guard remained at home
to be with his wife, DeShawn, who gave birth to
their second child. Snow, whose son Darius Michael Snow
was born Monday night, has been sidelined since
breaking his left thumb in a preseason game Oct. 16.
<br><br>The Sixers activated Snow from the injured list
Monday. <br><br>Iverson, last year's MVP, sprained his
left thumb at Golden State last Wednesday. Right elbow
surgery kept the star guard from playing in the first
five games of this season. He entered Tuesday with
leading the league with 27.2 points per game.
<br><br>Philadelphia, 0-7 without Iverson this year, lost its fifth
straight Saturday night at Memphis. <br><br>The Sixers
were without forward Derrick Coleman, who missed his
third straight game with a hyperextended left knee, and
point guard Speedy Claxton, who went on the injured
list Monday after spraining his left ankle at Memphis.
<br><br>Dikembe Mutombo, Matt Harpring and Raja Bell were the
only players to appear in each of Philadelphia's first
20 games. Aaron McKie, who strained his lower back
Friday at San Antonio, started at point guard.
