Ladies and Gentlemen, roll up, roll up, for the greatest show in cycling.
Probably.

The Kirkliston Time Trial Series begins on Wednesday 2nd May. Changing and
Sign-on are Kirkliston Leisure Centre at 6.30-6.45. First rider off at 7pm
sharp.  Please allow plenty of time if you are riding out from town, and
lights may be required for the ride home.

This will be a 17 week series, run weekly with the exception of the night of
the McCulloch Memorial 10, and the final event is on the last Wednesday in
August.

All ages and abilities of rider welcome.  Cost is £1.  ERC first claim
members only.
Course is 10 miles, starting from Kirkliston, and heading through Winchburgh
and Threemiletown, to turn at Bridgend, and then retracing back to
Kirkliston.

Points are awarded for the first 20 riders. 20 points for first place, down
to one point for 20th.  The timekeeper and marshall get 18 and 15 points
respectively. Sign up to assist on one evening and guarantee points!

There is a separate women's competiton, with points for the first ten
finishers. The first lady getting 10 points, down to 1 point for the tenth
lady. Here's a hint girls: there's never been more than 4 or 5 ladies on a
single night, so points are virtually guaranteed.

Prizes for the points competition are awarded at the annual ERC prize-giving
dinner.

Although this race series has a points competition, it should be treated as
a training event. On no account should any rider endanger themselves or
others in the pursuit of a time. Please remember that this is a 60mph limit
road, which goes through a couple of towns, and riders must obey the traffic
laws and Highway Code at all times.

For further information, please get in touch with me at
neil_laing@..., or RTTT Convenor Kevin Tait at kat@..., or see
the ERC website and forum.

Regards,
Neil Laing
Kirky TT Series Organiser
