There was another article in Wednesday's Scotsman which included this
quote (although it's unlikely he was being asked a direct question
referring to the potential risks affecting ERC's Tri Squad open water
swimmers):-

Fife Police wildlife liaison officer Mark Maylin said: "The whales seem
able to tell the difference between people and seals, and certainly
don't actively seek out humans, so there shouldn't be a problem there."
