Dear all
The British Duathlon Championships will take place this weekend in Edinburgh, it
will the biggest event we have ever staged with 650 athletes taking part.
If you are racing good luck and have a good race, if you are not please come
along and support your club mates by helping with either marshalling or as part
of the event crew.
Volunteers will get a polo shirt, food and drink, and if there is money left in
the pot after all bills paid a donation to their club.
Jobs include (in order of most needed).
1) Friday afternoon and evening set up crew, assembling scaffolding, moving
barriers etc, bring an adjustable spanner if you have one.
2) Saturday morning set up crew, moving barriers into the road, attaching
sponsor scrim to barriers. (4am-7:30am) after which you can relax and watch the
race etc.
3) Sat afternoon take down crew.
This years race will be a lot different to previous years and should be a real
spectacle, with commentary, music, VIP and media area's at the finish and 650
people taking part in elite (drafting), age group (non-drafting) duathlons,
sprint and novice triathlons, the kid's Scottish champs triathlon and the
British nurses tri champs.
Please copy to myself and Angela if you can help, including your mobile number
and when you can help.
We will be holding the marshals briefing at 7:30pm on Friday at the Commie pool.
Note there will be no marshals briefing on the Sat morning!!
