We need your help!
Equipe SF is looking for volunteers willing to make/donate some jello shots for our Beer Bust and Final Uniform Party at Metro this Saturday, Feb 25th from 2pm-7pm. The Metro Bar has generously donated the use of their refrigerator to store the shots, as well as the Free Dinner For Two at TAPEO certificate, and a $20 Bar Tab which we will be raffling off at the party.
A recipe for jello-shots is listed below if you need one, so please write to me or to equipesf1@... if you'd like to donate your time, resources and jello-making/bar-tending talents. We also have some shifts open for hosting the party, so please do write if you'd like to help out "behind the desk" or with the uniform try-ons and ordering.
Thanks and see you on Saturday at
Metro Bar!

Jello Shots recipes
Jello shots are probably one of the easiest type of shot to make, and a hell of a lot more tasty. There are tonnes of flavors, but here's a good one nonetheless.

Mix hot water and jello. Add rum. Pour into 2 ounce cups. Serve after
the jello has set.
Serve in:
Shot Glass or paper ramiken cups

There's no doubt that Jello shots are a party favorite. Although this particular recipe calls for watermelon jello and rum, many flavor variations exist. Substitute the rum in the above recipe with midori melon liqueur, for example, and you have something altogether unique. Orange or cherry jello (jell-O, or "gelatin dessert") works well with brandy, while peach jello tends to suit bourbon (jack daniel's) as raspberry jello does raspberry schnapps.
Many jello shot recipes simply call for a flavored jello and vodka, or even rum. Keep in mind, when planning your parties, it's a good idea to provide for several tastes. Try some of the following popular combinations:
Lime jello, tequila and triple sec
Orange jello, orange cognac/brandy (ie. grand marnier) or peach schnapps
Cherry jello, cherry brandy
Raspberry jello, raspberry schnapps
Tropical fruit jello, mango liqueur or dark rum
Peach jello, bourbon (rebel yell)
Unflavored jello + lemonade, kentucky whisky
Strawberry jello, light rum and strawberry liqueur
Apricot jello, amaretto
Grape jello, vodka
When allowing jello shots to set, chill them in individual servings; in an ice cube tray, or similar equipment. Note that the water in jello shot recipes is required to allow the jello to set. If for some reason you find your mix fails to set, you either need to add more water, or use less. In either case, you'll need to start from scratch. (Don't add more gelatine at a later stage - the water isn't boiling, therefore your shots will inherit a grainy texture.)
