U.S. striker Brian McBride, who has played this season for Everton,
has agreed to return to Columbus Crew (his MLS team and traditional
home) for the 2003 season.
He has been on a 3-month loan to Everton, and they failed to offer
him a long-term contract before the deadline this week.
He will likely play his last Everton game a few hours from now, at
Arsenal. He will them train with USA for their upcoming friendly vs.
Mexico.
As a reminder, he scored two of the USA's goals in the 2002 World Cup.
He is one of the most popular players on the national team, and is
one of the reasons cited by Columbus in seasons past for their MLS-
leading attendance figures at Crew Stadium in Coumbus, OH.
