DOHA, QATAR- Brazilīs World Cup winning striker Romario has
signed a three-month contract with Al-Sad of Qatar worth 1.5 million
dollars, club spokesman Khaled Jabr al-Nuaimi said Sunday.
"Romario signed a three-month contract with Al-Sad a few days ago
worth 1.5 million dollars," Nuaimi told AFP.
The 37-year-old 1994 World Cup star is due in Qatar within two days
and is set to play for Al-Sad in the the quarterfinals of the Asian
club championships in the southern Emirati city of Al-Ain between
March 9-15.
Rio de Janeiro outfit Fluminense, to which Romario is under contract
until December, has said it will not block his departure.
Romario numbers Barcelona and PSV Eindhoven among his past employers.
