Round 1 - 2008 Metzeler ACU British Enduro Championship
ENTRY FULL
Metzeler will be pleased with the way the 2008 British Enduro
Championship has started as the first round, the EMG Muntjac Enduro
organised by Diss MCC on the Sunday 24th February is already full in
all classes. The secretary has been flooded with entries with 220
entries and 30 reserves being received within 5 days of the
regulations becoming available! All of the top riders are entered
but obviously there will be some disappointed riders who didn't
respond quickly enough or failed to submit their entry correctly.
Whatever your excuse, I am afraid the entries for this year's event
are now closed but advice for the future is don't delay in getting
your entry in and make sure it is filled in correctly.
Progress on setting out the course is going well and a full preview
of the event will be available shortly. One key issue for all riders
to note at this stage is that the Metzeler Logo must be displayed on
all machines for all British Championship events, riders are
required to allow a space of 40mm at the top of their front and side
number plates for the sticker of the Series Sponsor. Riders must
also note that only the Series Sponsor's logo should appear on the
number plate.
A couple of other issues worth mentioning at this stage is that all
riders must have environmental mats. In fairness most riders did
have environmental mats for the 2007 Muntjac and the feedback from
the Forestry Commission who undertake random site inspections of the
event on the day was very positive.
The last issue is the change in the standing enduro regulations for
2008 in regards to Championship and Expert riders having the same
colour number plates on the front and side of their machines. This
change was requested by riders and in summary:
· Championship Class - Red plates with white numbers on the
front and sides.
· Expert Class - Green plates with white numbers on the front
and sides.
· Clubman –remain the same with yellow plates with black
numbers on the front and sides.
