2008 A HIGH PROFILE NATIONAL X COUNTRY SERIES.from GBXC.   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1364 of 1468 |
GBXC is the Great Britain X Country championship and as announced in
2007 has been formed by the top two off road race promoters in the
UK, Paul Edmondson and Steve Ireland.
These two off road powerhouses are linking together to bring a very
special 4 round, high profile series to the UK for 2008 with a view
to a much bigger and comprehensive series for 2009.
The BIG news is that Eddy and Ireland have secured T.V for the four
rounds. The same company that have produced the British MX
Championship T.V programme have signed a deal to cover all the
action and it will be screened on Channel 5 (terrestrial) and Sky
Sports along with a host of other sports and motors related
channels. Paul and Steve have both heavily invested personally in
securing this superb profile raising package and the air time will
give the sport of XC racing a big lift just by being on the box!
The brand new series kicks off in a month's time on SUNDAY 17TH
February at the awesome MATCHAMS PARK, this will be a ROUND 1 to
remember with use of the entire Matchams complex including all woods
and GP track. The other 3 dates for the series are as follows…Sunday
4th May - Sunday 13th July - Sunday 14th SeptemberVenues and
locations will be announced nearer the time of the events, but you
can certainly expect some exciting and special places throughout the
UK to race your dirt bikes in this class leading Championship.
The race day will have 2 races, A 2hr morning race for Sportsman,
Over 40's and Novice riders. (9.30 start) Then a 3 hr main event
starting at 12.30 for the Pro's, Expert, Clubman 2t and Clubman 4t's
will headline the days sport.
The GBXC has a new website that will come live on 15th January 2008.
A nice simple easy to follow site that will contain all the info and
on line entries and details that interested riders will need.
www.gbxc.co.uk is where to go. info@... will be the general
contact address.
Entries and enquires can also be made by calling 01543 370070 and

All riders are welcome at GBXC and the series will be run with
Professionalism, Passion, Humour and fairness. Making it "THE" GREAT
BRITAIN X COUNTRY SERIES.

yourselves entered as soon as entries open for round 1 on January
