Here is one of many emails I receive every time we publish a "New
Stuff" list:
"I just wanted to make a comment about your early notification on new
rifles. Every time i get your e-mail i go straight to your page and
all the good stuff is all sold already. Whats up with that?"
We now have nearly 7,000 customers on our mailing list, and every one
is sent a "New Stuff" notification email at EXACTLY the very same
time! We PURPOSELY send them at random times and on random days (no
way of predicting when it will be published, as we don't even know).
No matter when we publish it, or what it contains, at least HALF of
the items in each list gets spoken-for within the FIRST HOUR!
NOTHING is EVER marked sold when the list first goes out, and there
is no "advanced notice list". . . it all depends on when you check
your email (which is exactly WHY we do this at random times, in order
to give everyone, no matter what time-zone they reside in or what
time of the day they read their email, an EQUAL chance at seeing a
list with everything still available). If this has not happened to
you yet, be assured that it eventually WILL.
There are SOME clever customers who have figured out ways to have
their email program notify them whenever an email with the key-
words "Empire Arms" and "New Stuff" in the subject-line arrives in
their in-box. . . a few have arranged for their computer to call
their cell-phone or pager when this happens, some have their computer
set off an alarm of some kind (instead of "you've got MAIL" it plays
something else to let them know when a "New Stuff" email arrives) and
those folks are usually successful in finding and ordering unsold
items from nearly every list, but we NEVER HAVE and NEVER WILL notify
anyone beforehand.
If I could figure out a better way to do this I would, but this
method seems the most fair. As soon as we get an order for an item we
mark it SOLD on the website so we don't get dozens (or even hundreds)
of orders for that exact same item.
We routinely receive five to twenty email orders A MINUTE when the
list first goes out. . . one reason we do not accept phone-orders is
because the phone would be either CONSTANTLY ringing or the line
would ALWAYS be busy.
We do encourage our customers to utilize our exclusive WANT-LIST
SERVICE (http://www.empirearms.com/wantlist.htm) that way we would
offer items they are specifically looking for directly to them rather
than listing them at all (we sell 40-60% of everything we purchase
utilizing this method). We are unable to read your minds and KNOW
what items you are looking for if you do not specifically tell us.

Our archive of HUNDREDS of "New Stuff" pages are available for
research at http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/empirearms so you
can see the type of items we routinely offer and the prices these
items actually have SOLD for. Note that we do not update our "New
Stuff" pages after 24 hours, so just because something may not be
marked SOLD on an obsolete page does *NOT* mean it is still
available. . . we transfer all UNSOLD items to our public web-pages
after 24 hours and they (usually) quickly sell there.
I hope this F.A.Q. has sufficiently answered whatever concerns you
may have. . . I realize it can be frustrating to see items we offer
sell so quickly, but as a businessman whose goal is to sell and
quickly ship items to our satisfied customers I am pleased with the
fact that we are successful in doing just that.
