GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Greenville's Allan Sirois scored two goals in a 27-second
span in the third period to lead the Grrrowl to a 3-1 victory over the Florida
Everblades on Tuesday in ECHL action.
With the game tied early in the third period and Florida owning the momentum,
Sirois put Greenville on top at the 4:05 mark. He drilled a backhanded 10-foot
shot from in front of the net past Florida goalie Craig Kowalski.
Moments later Sirois grabbed the puck at Greenville's end, quickly took it down
the ice, skated past Kowalski and backhanded another shot into the net.
The goals, combined with the performance of Greenville goalie Mike Brodeur
proved enough to secure the Grrrowl victory.
The loss dropped Florida to 6-4-0.
Ready to extend their winning streak to three, the Grrrowl got off to a quick
start.
Right wing Matt Zultek grabbed a rebound shot on the left wing, then drilled a
shot past Kowalski at the 5:08 mark to give Greenville a 1-0 lead.
The puck found the net only moments after Greenville center Les Haggett slid
into the goal, narrowly missing a shot.
Florida battled back in the second, capitalizing on a two-man advantage at the
9:49 mark when forward Daniel Sisca tapped a shot past Grrrowl goalie Mike
Brodeur.
The Everblades continue their road trip tonight when they take on the Columbia
Inferno. They then travel to Charlotte, N.C. for a Friday night game against the
