A reminder that there is an off road trip scheduled for Aug 13.
Destination: Swayback Bridge Trail Wetumpka, Al
Trail Info & Directions: http://lightinside.org/bike/swayback.htm
Time: be ready to ride at 8:45AM
Riding Plan: Ride first loop stopping to regroup. Ride second loop at your own pace.
If you want to share a ride drop me an email.
A couple of us will probably stay afterward and kayak down the Coosa River. There is an adventure race which will use the trail and river on Sept 16th:
Additionally, a few of us are doing some more trail cleanup this Sunday at 4PM. If you use the trails
and can come by to help it would be appreciated. We also need more grass clippings. If you cannot stay to help and can still drop by with clippings, that would be great. Also, if you have clippings and bring them out when you ride, just spread them on an sandy area. Almost any area on Pine Dog could use them as that is the most heavily traveled trail.
I have not ridden the Ranger Camp side since we put the grass clippings down. I rode them last night and was really amazed at home much they firmed up the sandy areas and seemed to help stop some of the errosion that happens when it does rain.
