The next ECC Off Road trip is scheduled for Sunday August 13th.
The location is Wetumpka,Al for the Swayback Bridge trail.
The following URL provides a description:
Please note that the off road rides are mostly at a moderate pace. However, mtb riding requires some acquired skill. If you are new to off road riding or have not ridden in some time, it would be best to join the group for some of the weekday rides before coming out to one of the trips. The group rides at Timberlake every Thursday at 5:30 PM all year long.
Thanks to all those that showed up at Conecuh. We had a great turnout of 16 riders starting the ride. Some who where short on time or had not ridden in a while stopped after the first 10 miles. 10 riders completed the
entire 27 mile ride. The swim in crystal clear Blue Lake afterward was really nice. It was a fun day and a great workout.
Trail notes:
The Conecuh trail is in good shape. The website is somewhat misleading in that it implied that the trip between Open Pond and Blue Lake was 1 mile. We found that it was a 5 mile trip one way. This was the most technical part of the trail. There is also a section of broken bridge on this part of the trail.
The northern loop was very nice and had a lot of long gradual climbs. I would suggest leaving a cooler at the Northern intersection of the trail and 137 if you ride it. There is a grassy parking area at the trailhead. It was a very welcome break for us at that point (Thanks David!).
Happy Trails.
