It's time for Floridians to take back our State Parks.
Reserve America's contract is up as of November 2005. If you have had
problems with reservations, cancellations or over-charges list your
problems here.
If you would like to get back to the times before Reserve America when
you could pack up your gear on a sunny weekend and just show up
without a reservation and get camping space. Here is where to voice
your opinion.
Have you ever shown up at a park without a reservation for one of the
5 or 6 spaces left for walk ups and been told, "sorry, they are all
gone"? And then went in the park to find yes the walk ups are taken,
but the rest of the spots are sitting empty. And because you didn't
(and the park can't) use Reserve America you'll have to go elsewhere?
Is it fair that a person in a small tent that uses no electricity or
water hook-ups pay the same as RV'ers?
Is fair that Reserve America takes a fee from the state parks for a
reservation? And then another even higher fee if that same reservation
is cancelled? Which could then total more than the park charges for a
space.
Should the State Parks have to pay thousands even hundreds of
thousands of dollars to Reserve America for closing parks due to
weather or other natural causes?
If you would like to have your voice heard this the place for you.
