This is just a reminder that the 17th Annual 3-State 3-Mountain Challenge will be coming up on May 1, 2004, in Chattanooga, TN. For participants who plan to spend Friday or Saturday night in Chattanooga and have not made your reservations, please be aware that the motel rooms that we have reserved for the event with the Days Inn Rivergate and the Days Inn Tiftonia will be released to the public on April 1, 2004. The rooms reserved at the Staybridge Suites are already booked for that weekend. Please make reservations through the local numbers. The 800 numbers do not know of the individual arrangements and only know that no rooms are available on those dates since they are reserved for 3-State participants. April 1 is very soon and we were unable to hold these rooms at this rate any longer because they will fill up from the general public. Days Inn Rivergate is 423/266-7331 and Days Inn Tiftonia is 423/821-6044.

Other news since the flyers were printed or my last email is that River City Bicycles and American Bicycle Group again plan to donate a Litespeed frame to be given away at the event. We plan to be giving out "I Survived" patches again this year for all who finish their chosen route. We hope to have around 20-25 cycling and outdoor related booths at the Pavilion to visit and pick up some bargains or see the latest in equipment or opportunities when you come to pick up your packet or register. This is from 4:00-9:00pm on Friday, April 30. And don't forget the Undercover Chattanooga Bicycle Scavenger Hunt on Sunday, May 2. This is an opportunity to see more of Chattanooga than the general tourist will and include your family if you have brought them along. It is also an opportunity for the local cyclists to meet some of our visitors.
