Heavens, I can't keep up.
On September 14th, at a Senior D and Lower Mixed Epee (SDLXE),
Patrick Wang and Cameron Parker went, saw, and conquered! A ha ha ha
ha! OK, no, wait, wrong attitude . . . but they did do very well. In
a field of 28, Patrick came in 12th and Cameron came in 15th.
Congratulations, guys!
Then, on September 21, at the Senior All Women's Foil (SAWF) (which,
I swear, should be called "Senior, if what you mean is in 8th to 12th
grade" – I can't wait to be a veteran), Theresa came in 15th out of
17, but should have been at least 14th. She had a bad fencing day in
the beginning. She felt like, maybe, she had never fenced in her
life. I can give you this sort of inside information since I know her
pretty well. :)
And then, on the same day, was the Senior All Women's Epee (SAWE).
Juliette Flores, Sharon Parker, Susan Powell, and Deborah Wang all
took part in this tournament (and also gave good moral support to
Theresa at the end of her tournament). The nice thing about this
tournament was the sense of camaraderie between many of the fencers
before the tournament – everyone was outside, warming up, trading
jokes, lamenting about past bouts and tournaments, and generally
having a great time. Juliette finished 5th out of 20, Deborah was
8th, Susan was 10th, and Sharon was 18th.
PCS News:
Many of our fencers are headed to Chico on Sunday (tomorrow) to fence
in the PCS Circuit Sierra Nevada Open. Good luck to Billy Carson,
Dylan Case, Juliette Flores, Jonathan Jeffries, Keith Lichten, John
McGrew, Cameron Parker, Sharon Parker, Susan Powell, Mehmet
Tepedelenlioglu (which I am spelling from memory, so sorry if I got
it wrong!), Sol Weingarten, and Alex . . . um . . . I don't know
Alex's last name. I apologize. Again. This is a very sorry message.
It's just hanging its head.
Go East Bay Fencers!
