It's starting to cool off now, so it's time to get your cold on!!
Winter training will be starting up next Wednesday night 7pm. Track
will be opened and manned by our very resident pro Mr Tim Henry or his
right hand man Oscar Clark. Keep an eye on the schedule for any
changes and also for holiday breaks. Please note that if you didn't
purchase a 2008 One Pass you'll need to purchase either : a 2009 One
Pass, 2009 Training Pass, or pay $5 per night.

Just a reminder that the Quantum Mechanics crew will be rolling out
from the shop at 6:15pm tonight. We will be riding for a little over 2
hours and we'll probably roll by the track as a destination stop.

The regular ride on Sunday morning (9 am) which leaves Outback Bikes in L5P will
be ridden
in honor of Chris Baker this weekend.

Chris has been the ride leader for this ride which is just over 5o miles. Chris
was struck and
killed this week while riding his bike to work.

Some of you may have known Chris because he has been riding and racing in the
area since
the 80's.  If not by name it is very likely that you would know him by site. He
was a
tremendous human being. A very tough rider with a heart of gold. It is likely
that there will
be a huge turnout because everyone loved Chris.

Consider joining the ride if you can.

This ride leaves from the track @ 9:00am and is about 3 hours long. It
should go down 29 to Palmetto and back. Intended to be a good base ride.

Approx. 2 1/2 hrs of hanging out. There is no set route so it should
remain interesting.

P.S. Check out the calendar if you are looking for a ride to do. I
have been posting all of the rides I am doing. Feel free to post yours
or just show up to one of mine.

  Apparently, the new location is not ready yet. I have wanted to see
this location anyway. 7:30pm Saturday.

This will likely be a regular Sunday ride starting this Sunday. 80
miles @ approx. 20 mph.

I'm trying to get the habit up of maintaining the calendar. If you
know of some good rides, fell free to add them! Thanks and looking

Festival of Speed is coming up.
don't overtrain before the race. Don't kill it too much a couple days
before the race and you should feel great.

I went to the track last Monday for some last bits of intensity
workout before the the FoS and decided to line up for the sprint and
endurance workouts back to back. This proved to be very painful thanks
to the 100% flying 500m efforts. Wayne was timing the flying 200m
efforts for the sprinters that night and of course I had to go first.
I squeezed off about a 12.5 and felt a little slow on the wind up but
I was eager to see what Jardslau was going to pull off. After everyone
had their shot Jardslau went in a little slow but made it up with a
very potent 12.04! That is definitely approaching real sprinter speed.
I expect to see him break sub 12 this year and maybe better since It
doesn't look like he has pushed beyond his own abilities yet.
