FYI. - I would give the kid the benefit of doubt here and just assume that
he learned the road rules from his parents. I hope he recovers.

A boy on a bicycle was struck head-on by a truck in Broken Arrow late
Tuesday night.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, at about 11:30 p.m. near
131st Street and Garnett Road, an unidentified boy was riding a
bicycle heading east in the westbound lane, when he was struck head-on
by a truck driven by a 16-year-old driver.

The collision caused the boy on the bicycle to be ejected more than
100 feet away from the collision, according to the OHP.

EMSA spokeswoman Tina Wells said medics had to rush the boy, estimated
to be about 15 or 16 years old, to St. Francis Hospital in critical
condition with traumatic injuries.

Troopers said the teen truck driver was not injured.

The current condition of the boy is unknown.
