Membership Meeting Minutes May 4, 2006
The following Board Members were present:

Meeting was called to order by President, Ward Combs at 7:25pm. After a recap
of the April 2006 meeting, reading of the previous meeting minutes was waived
and new members present were introduced.
Reports I. Club Financial Report
Treasurer Jan Ashmore gave the financial report. Balance is $5,752.39, plus a
refund of $2,706.00 for legal expenditures is expected from insurance carrier.
Members were given the opportunity to view the detail of income and expenses as
well as a copy of the current budget at the conclusion of the meeting.
II. Membership Report
Marilyn Dillon reported that we have 167 active members. Because of the
increase in postage costs, we are switching to postcard renewal reminders.
Everyone was encouraged to respond to the first notice to save the club postage
costs for sending a second/final reminder. The possibility of email renewal
reminders is also being looked at.
III. IMBA Hour
Mr. Charles Duke is still AWOL after a wreck at Roman Nose. Thankfully
reports from those in the know tell us that his injuries are healing nicely and
that he can still hold and tip a beer!
IV. Trails Access
Draper ---- In awesome shape despite the race in the mud
GO RIDE!!!
Roman Nose ---- Workday scheduled for May 20th, see earthbike list or website
for details
Bluff --- Looking good, the city inspection went well and other than wanting
a few boards replaced on the bridges, they think we are doing a great job.
Club Business & Projects
I. Jersey Order
Jersey order is expect to ship in May but havent come as of the meeting.
When they are ready to be distributed, the location will be posted on the one
list.
II. 9 to 5 Race
Jan Ashmore reported that planning has started for the 8 hour race at Roman
Nose to be held in October. Those interested in volunteering should contact
her.
III. RDR 2006 Committee Report
Race went great & Jan was amazing in getting everyone organized. Took in
$4200.00, had $1,848.28 in expenses with a profit of $2,351.00.
IV. Board Elections
Vice President Steve Ashmore spoke about the upcoming board elections and
answered questions about term lengths. Members were encouraged to seek out
board members and officers with questions about their duties and the time
commitment involved.
V. Newbie Rides/Skills Clinics/Babes Rides
Planning is in progress for another new member ride plus some skills clinics.
Marilyn Dillon asked for volunteers willing to teach basic bike maintenance and
adjustment at these clinics and also for experienced riders willing to take our
a small group of new riders to learn the basics such as cornering, clearing
logs, gear choice, etc.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:14pm
