I'm trying to recruit from my group of peeps sprawled across the nation, but so far I've just got maybes, 'cept for Devon O'Connell (the other non-Mormon player in St. George, ex-Nebraska capt.) and Jenny Shrum (another Montanan who works in Arizona). Shall we try to raid Flagstaff and some other places 'round the SW for players? So far I've been mostly working my well-traveled friends in Montana and the Midwest; they are mulling it over. I might also try to hit up the Salt Lake peoples, some of whom I've played with.

Hey,
I thought you'd like to know about The Clymb. It’s a private sale network that will give you access to insider pricing from an amazing group of outdoor brands. If you climb, hike, run, ride, paddle or ski, you’re gonna love this. Here’s how it works: you accept this invite and The Clymb will hook you up with deep discounts, usually 50-70% off retail, on gear from a different leading brand each week. Each brand’s product is available for 3 days only or until it’s sold out. Membership is free and by invite only. That’s why I’m inviting you.
Hope all is well,
Kevin

Andrea and I are thinking about checking out this movie at the Smiley Building on Teusday (tomorrow). It starts at 7pm. Would anyone be interested in grabbing some dinner before the movie?
Feel free to send out to anyone that I may have missed.

Students at the Environmental Center Go Searching For Gold
The Environmental Center’s REEL Environmental Experience Film Fest Fundraiser is coming up right after break on Tuesday evening, December 1st at the Smiley Building. Like many non-profit groups in the region, the Fort Lewis College Environmental Center is feeling the effects of the recession as funders have cut back on their support. In response, the students who run the Center are going searching for gold. This year REEL features the movie Red Gold, a documentary about the Bristol Bay Region of Southwest Alaska where two of the world’s most prolific Sockeye salmon runs are threatened by companies seeking to build the largest North American open-pit copper and gold mine. The film poses the question about the source of a community’s true wealth. You can view the trailer here.
At the event, attendees will have the opportunity to share what represents the “gold” in our region and should be preserved. To raise awareness about the film and the theme students are dressing up as fish, passing out fish-shaped ribbons, and making fish banners to advertise the event. Students are hoping that by making their fundraiser free with a suggested donation the community will return some gold to the Environmental Center and help it get through tough times.
Red Goldhas won numerous awards including the audience choice award at Telluride Mountain Film Festival and Banff Mountain Film Festival as well as the best cinematography award at Telluride Mountain Film Festival and Camden International Film Festival. The festival will also feature a student film about the Center’s work with 9-R’s Big Picture School as well as additional environmental shorts from around the world. Local watershed groups will be in attendance to discuss the impact of local mining activities on the area’s rivers and fisheries.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the films starting at 7 p.m. There will also be a silent auction, appetizers from local restaurants, and beer and wine from Carver Brewing Company.
Sponsors include Bank of the San Juans, La Plata Electric Association, Carver Brewing Company, the Smiley Building, and Adolfson Peterson Construction.

Greetings.
I will be TDing Albuturkey this weekend, so I figured I'd throw out a few details, and a friendly reminder about registration!
All teams will get 4 games on Saturday, and at least two games on Sunday. Games start at 10:30 on Saturday, TBD on Sunday. I will do my absolute best to make sure that the teams are well balanced, and a lot of fun for all participants.
If you're going to register at the fields, please be there at 9. On field registration is over at 9:30.
Cost: $20 early registration, $25 on-field Saturday registration ($10 per extra guest fee for dinner/party)
Sammy is looking to purchase 2-3 ultimate disks. If you have some for sale, maybe post it here and then call him. Many years ago, Sammy would show up to play ultimate 5 or 6 times a year. He's a good guy.
Hey everybody, I just found out that the campground we used last time is closing early for the winter, so I have to go with the back-up site, which is still really close, but a 3-4 minute walk instead of 1 minute from the fields. The thing is, that campground is smaller, so I need to reserve space instead of waiting til everybody shows up. So if you are definitely planning on coming up/out to Moab on Nov. 28-29, please let me know, and also if you are still on the fence. Thanks
That game was awesome! With all the snow and the sweet hard core ultimate. Really fun! thank you so much to everyone there. seriously one of the best saterdays ever. Hey and there is still one last ultimate fling. Albuturkey is this upcoming weekend and im pretty sure there are some people who want to go. Lets get a good durango group to invade ABQ and show off our sweet party/ ultimate skillz. Once again thank you to everyone and byran the party was great!

It was a fabulous day of disc, weather, partying, and the famous Durango Ultimate spirit. Thanks to all for a great day to end the season. And congratulations to the punks for their improbable win. There's nothing more tragic than youth with the flame of hope extinguished. May yours now be kindled for at least a year.
Love to you all. See you up on the mountain. Let's get some Ultimate days up at DMR this year.

geezers won the party, the hot tub, best hot drinks at the field, best hot soup and blueberry crisp (from jacqui), best hang around fire,
it was tie in the games - 15 person ping pong, guitar hero, WA (thanks Kevin for leading), regular ping pong, table hockey,
thanks to all who participated
oh yeah,
the punks eeked out a 16-14 victory, storming back from a 14-12 deficit in a game to 15 win by 2- congratulations
we didn't want to demoralize you forever...
bryan
for the geezers - mac, bryan, hop, pakhi, ann, disco (actually got to play on both lines), dan
for the punks - blair, joel, chad, lauren, edith, disco, nathan, ryan, jeff
