For those who don't already know: Thursdays are out due to my shift (and I'm certain after getting through some arbritrary training...I'll enjoy the job). This Sunday I'll be out of town. SO...I'll see whoever is out next Sunday. Meanwhile, I'll hope the turn-out is good or improves. As I've wondered aloud repeatedly..."who has something better to do?"

Considering how excited we get when we get 5's... I really think this discussion is fairly pointless. Ann, let's work to bring pick-up back to a respectable status and you'll find you have more hands available when it comes time to revive the Durango Hat.
Dan Steuer <dansteuer@...> wrote:yes, there are loads of us former residents who'd love to come down for the Hat; getting people to come of course isn't the problem. But I'm really disappointed that Sal won't take one for the team and remote organize it from Pueblo. ;-) Didn't Genevieve organize one too? Another former resident. Beware, Ann, if you heed Sal's call you may have to move away from Durango, there seems to be a pattern here... :-)

Garvey did one. Needless to say, all of us are former Durangoans. The
other point, is one person needs to take the lead to make it work. The "we
should do" will never work. For one thing, you can never depend on others.
People will, however, gladly take on responsibilites if tasked out. I
remember Mac and Fridiger were very good at lining the fields for instance.
I think Paul always organized the pre-tourney bike ride. I would love to
have another Durango hat. Unfortunately I am in Pueblo, not Durango, and
cannot organize it myself. But, if you want it, I think you should go and
do it. Plenty of people, including myself, will help out in selective ways
if you start doing the lead grunt work.
