****Fleet week 2009 is in effect from 08:00 a.m. May 19th till 20:00 p.m.
Wednesday May 27th.****

If you are paddling out of the embayment from Pier 96 location please be aware
of the following from the Coast Guard.

No vessels are authorized within 250 yards of the NYC Passenger Ship Terminal on
the Hudson River between the corner of Pier 86 and the northeast corner of Pier
92.
Persons violating this regulation are subject to a penalty of up to $50,000
and/or imprisonment for not more than 5 years.

The following are dates for BCU training & assessment for Active Volunteers only

June 6th 1*star training
June 27th 1*start training
July 11th 2*star training Part 1
July 18th 2*star training Part 2

July 25th 1*star assessment
September 5th-7th 2*star assessment. Will pick one day, which works, for all
candidates.

Please note the 2*star training is in two parts.

Hello. I am rounding up kayakers for a swim support for the Cibbows group. This
swim will take place at Coney Island in front of the Aquarium and is a 5K race.
I really enjoy their events. It’s a great day on the ocean. One of the nicer
swims supports. This is a very early morning swim support they want all kayakers
at the beach in front of the Aquarium in Coney Island at 05:45 a.m.! But…it is a
worthy journey. They give great goodie bags and feed us well. There will be a
little party after the race at the Aquarium or we can go surfing and picnic on a
lovely beach.
