We have posted and amended Pubic Boat users list and rules for using boathouse
boats outside the ebayment on non boat trips In the log book at Pier 96. Pleas
review this if you plan to leave the ebayment in a boathouse boat. They will be
added to the website shortly.

The NYC Triathlon is coming up!  July 20th!
Kayakers Needed For Swim Support! If you would like to volunteer....  
We will have 2 kayak swim support classes at the Downtown Boathouse.
Thursday July 10th 7 pm
Tuesday July 15th 7 pm
You must attend one of these classes, If you want to volunteer--we can even have
 a boat ready to go for you up at the start of the race-- that morning at the
79th Street Boat Basin.  
Contact  Sandy dragonsandy1@... to set up the orientation swim support
class and work out boat details.  

A little warning...The Triathlon folks need us there the day of the event-"on
the slightly early side"  Sunday July 20th.
Most likely the 4:30 am zone.  But--There will be good stuff to munch on before
you jump in your boat.... and the Triathlon folks give out nice goodie bags....
& throw a great party.
We will also need help paddling a group of boats up the day before from the DTBH
on Saturday July 19th at 11:00am.
And then.... help paddling a group of boats back after he Tri.

They left some P&H t-shirts and hats at the boathouse, and I put them on
everyones boats and lockers in both boathouses so please look for them,
and share/exchange.

Hopefully we will be featured in their new DVD and get the fame we deserve!!!

On July 26th. There is convergence of events happening on Governors Island.
There will be a number of paddlers heading down for various groups on the Hudson
River, East River New York Harbor will all be arriving on the island for the
day. There will be food, music and other events. The Boathouse is planning on
sending around 10 experienced paddlers with and equal number of public. if you
are interested. Send email to volunteer@downtown boathouse.org. We need to pre
register the people who will be paddling.

Our annual Regatta and party will be Sunday, August 3rd at the Pier 96
Boathouse. Mark your calendar!

On August 11th, 2008 there will be an election for a new board of directors for
the Downtown Boathouse. if you are a paid member you will be mailed a ballot.
The list of members will be available on August 1st for inspection. Make sure
you address is right. The bylaws of the boathouse are now posted on the
downloads section of the website.
