Dear Boathouse volunteer

Last weekend Pier 96 was closed for most of the day because we didn't have
enough volunteers to run the program. We are open all the way into October.
We are all tired by this time in the year, but if you have a few hours
please try and come down and help us finish the season on a high note.

We have updated the public boat usage rules. We added the following
text:
"Public boats may only be used for trips in the local waters that start
and end at the Boathouse. Public boats may never be transported by car,
truck, or trailer without the written permission of a Downtown Boathouse
officer, and under the supervision of a public trip leader."

Due to the weather, we had to reschedule the BCU classes last Saturday.
Taino will now be running the class Saturday 9/22 at 09:00AM. This is a
REFRESHER course aimed at those who did he BCU classes earlier in the
summer. It is not the full training. This should NOT be your first BCU class.

We have a small group of school kids coming on Friday 9/21 for a short
trip at Pier 96. The kids will get there at 12:00PM. If you want to
help out with this trip please come to Pier 96 by 11:30.

Tim Gamble has asked to remind everyone one more time about the Gowanus
Dredgers annual fundraising party to be held at the Dredgers location

Our neighbor on Pier 40, The River Project, is going to be running an
event on Tuesday 9/26 from 4:30PM to 7:00PM. We are going to help out
by offering free kayak rides. If you can come and help please come to
Pier 40 any time between 4:30PM and 7:00PM
