Dear Boathouse Volunteer.

On Saturday 6/2/2007 the Boathouse is hosting a talk by an
author about a really wild paddling adventure. The talk is at
Pier 96, right after we close at 6:30PM. Please see:
http://www.fulcrum-books.com/productdetails.cfm?PC=5872
They are bringing drinks and snacks, so it should be really
fun, and you might even be able to make a free dinner out
of it. The talk is open to the general public, everyone
is welcome.

We don't start the regular morning trips until 6/16, but we are
going to run a special volunteer only morning trip on 6/3 to dedicate
the new dock on Governor's Island that our president Jim Wetteroth
and other volunteers have built. This trip is open to all volunteers
We will meet at the Boathouse at Pier 96 at 6:00AM, and be back by
lunchtime. Rob Buchannan put up this great website showing the dock
launch:

Sandy and Jeremy have volunteered to run a trip to see the famous
parrots of Englewood NJ. Apparently some pets got loose, and are
now breeding in Jersey. See: http://www.edgewaterparrots.com/
We will leave after the public program from Pier 96 at 5:00PM
on Saturday June 9th. There are some nice restaurants over there
so bring money for dinner, a waterproof flashlight, and a light jacket
in case it gets cold. This trip is open to all volunteers. New volunteers
can use sit on tops, experienced volunteers can use decked boats.

Our next monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 6/5. Come at 6:00PM to
catch-up with friends, the meeting will be called to order at
6:30PM. The meeting is open to everyone.

The Jersey City Reservoir preservation group that the Boathouse has
worked with in Jersey City is having a Fundraiser- on June 14th at
Liberty State Park, Jersey City. Liberty House Restaurant,
6pm-9pm $125.00 Dinner.

Sandy Sobanski led a number of other volunteers to run a free
kayaking program in the reservior in Jersey City for the last few
years to show them what is possible in this great space.

See their website for details: www.jcreservoir.org.
