I will go over and room with you if no one has spoke up.  And if anyone has spoke up does anyone else need a roommate for the weekend.

What time are you planning on leaving on Friday?

Hi Team,

I screwed up the date of the TTT in the E-mail last night. According to the official Iowa racing schedule http://www.bikeiowa.org/Sked/Sked.shtml#6 , the race is SUNDAY, JUNE 14, not June 7. That'll teach me to send an important e-mail after 11 p.m. My apologies.

Training this weekend....and other activities....

-This weekend we need to clear out our Grimes Training Center. One of my projects this spring and summer, with assistance welcome from all of you, will be to find us a new place to train indoors November thru March. I'd like to find a space similar to what we had in Grimes. We'll be clearing out the room at 11 AM this Sunday...If we can get 6 or so of us it shouldn't take more than 30 minutes...it was great while it lasted...there is a very, very small chance we'll get the space next year..

Saturday Options:
1) Bike World Breakfast Ride (see last week's message)
2) Team ride, NOON at Starbucks (NOTE THE SATURDAY RIDE IS AT NOON)

Sunday
-A few volunteers meet at the training center to help us clean out the room (11 AM)
1) Team Ride, 1 PM at Starbucks (NOTE THE TIME CHANGE COMPARED TO SATURDAY START TIME).

Hi Team,

It is that time of year again when the coaches start playing "matchmaker" and putting together the preliminary lists for the 2009 Iowa Team Time Trial Championship teams. The race will be on Sunday, June 7 in north Iowa.  For those of you unfamiliar with what  a TTT is, here is a brief list of the primary points to consider before you volunteer to race:

-Each team is composed of four riders at the start line, 3 riders must finish to receive an official time. The coaches will make preliminary team matches based on the available race categories (eg. Cat. 5, Cat. 4, Women, Masters, Juniors), the skill of each rider, and input from riders who may want to race together. As much as possible we want riders of similar speed to be riding together.

-All four riders must be wearing team jerseys or skinsuits, and all riders must have annual race licenses attached to Des Moines Cycle Club. The jerseys and skin suits don't have to be perfectly identical (eg. produced in different years, so color and design does not have to be exact).

-Nearly all riders will ride in the aero position (TT bars), on either a road bike, TT bike or tri bike. It is possible to have an Eddy Mercx team, meaning all riders on the team do not use aero bars (this will slow the team because of increased wind drag). Disc wheels, funny helmets, shoe covers, skin suits, etc. are allowed.

-The distance is 100K, that is about 63 miles. Each lap is about 21 miles. Typically each rider will start with two bottles, one with water, one with energy drink, then get a hand up of a new bottle each lap. We will practice this process and technique before race day.

-This is totally about team work, communication, focus,  and smoothness. Typically the riders will either continually rotate, or rotate about every 30 seconds. The idea is to keep the speed as high as possible during the 63 miles. Basically the only rest each rider receives is the time to drift to the back of the rotation and then following the wheels to the front again (typically less than 2 minutes per rotation cycle). The entire race is 2.5 to 3 hours or more. Ideally you would want your legs to be very, very "fresh" for this race. Nutrition and hydration behavior prior to this race is also critically important---we will talk about that over the coming weeks.

-This event takes practice, and several of our Tuesday night practices between now and race day (June 14) will be focused on TTT practice. We will also practice on some weekends. It is extremely important for the efficiency and safety of the team that the team members practice as a team a minimum of 3 times for at least one hour prior to the race. If you cannot commit to practicing with your team a minimum of three times, or if there is less than an 80% chance you will be available on race day, you should not volunteer for a team. Last year several teams got together on their own schedule to practice, so practices can happen on weekends or any weeknight. Remember, four riders are needed at the start line to have a team.

-The race team will pay the entry fees for this race because it is a state championship event.

This is one of the highlight races of the year for our team. It is challenging, fun, builds team relationships, and is generally a neat event. If this year is like last year for our team's participation in the TTT (this year will probably be bigger), we will likely take a very large group of people to the race, including riders and probably 6-10 support people (that would be riders not racing, spouses, Moms, Dads, Grandparents...anyone who can help).

Please respond to this e-mail, or verbally let Coach Hammer or I know by Tuesday, May 5 if you want to be on a team. If you would like to volunteer to be a "stand in"--which means only on a team if a team ends up short one rider, please let us know.

If you are new to racing, that's OK, we can teach you what you need to know.  If you do not believe you would be able or ready to ride in an aero position for the race, also let Coach Hammer or me know.

Ask any of the coaches, or your experienced team mates, about the race if you have questions.

The box of clothes has arrived!

 Here is the plan...

Cindy and I will be meeting on Thursday to complete a total inventory and order review.  Once we have processed the new items and gotten everything accounted for we will begin handing out the new stuff, that will probably be toward the end of the weekend or next Tuesday...maybe sooner, but no promises at this time.

Several have requested items since this order went in.  Shorts, Jerseys, ect that we have some extras.  We need to make sure that the existing orders are all fulfilled and that any new riders that have signed since the order have gotten jerseys.

All of this should be figured out on Thursday.  After that we will contact you if you have made a request and let you know if we will be able to fulfill your request.

We will also throw out a general email of what we have in stock...I know i could use a second jersey...

Thanks for your help, patience and consideration with the order.

Dear Friends,

The Iowa DOT is presenting Iowans with a golden opportunity to encourage sustainable transportation and land-use before April ends. Whether you feel we need more bike-to-work lanes, passenger rail options, or goals to address climate change - this is your chance to be heard.. Six meetings are being held across the state to seek the public's input on transportation needs. Click here to download the announcement from the Iowa DOT. The Statewide Passenger Transportation Funding Study is seeking your input to identify gaps between current public transit, carpool/vanpool programs, intercity bus and rail services, and what you and your neighbors believe are transportation needs. Using the information from these meetings and through other sources, plans will be made to address Iowa's future transportation plans.

Team,
Due to the fact that some of you are racing 1 day, others are racing both days & some are going over Friday eve, while others are leaving Sat. am and staying over-night Sat, etc-etc......car pooling will be tricky. Reply to this e-mail to let others know if you'd like to car pool and your time frame, Jake has already asked to ride with someone.
Chevy & I are leaving Shoppers Supply @ 5:50 am Sat morning. The wife and I will be traveling to MN after the road-race, so no pooling for us. I'm not sure what Chevy has planned, you can check with him.

Whatever you choose to do this weekend, keep building on your spring training & BE SAFE OUT THERE!!!

I got word yesterday afternoon that the clothes have shipped and the tracking numbers shows arrival on the 28th.

A little story on why it took so long.

When we placed our original order i screwed up a few items and we need to make a supplemental order.  This supplemental order met no minimums quantities on anything, yet they were good enough to accomondate us...me...  I asked if we could open it up to additional items, and the answer was yes. I thought we would get 5-6, maybe 8 more items...

Or second order, that was going to be like 9 items rapidly grew to over 40 items, this was much larger than they could run in the small production window that they had that would have got the items here before Arkansas.

I appreciate everyones patience.

If your new to the team and have not got a jersey or are interested in other items we may have in stock, please let me or Cindy know.

The other talk I gave in Arkansas was about the ramifications of drafting and how this affects racing and training.  Drafting adds a lot of tactics to road racing.  Otherwise it would just be time trialing.  This article covers some of the things I discussed and also covers a few other things I didn't mention.   You have a great chance to practice drafting as well as attacking during our Tuesday night rides.

Hi Team,

Well, we had a great camp! Thanks to everyone who participated, and hopefully next year some of you who have never been to camp will have an opportunity. You can check out the 2009 camp photos at http://dmccraceteam.smugmug.com/gallery/7958301_kivHD , this is our race team photo site. Thanks to Becky Fletcher for taking more than 500 photos! Ask your team mates about their camp experience on the training ride tomorrow. Thanks to Coach Hammer for serving as camp director and leading our team, and to our support drivers (Nancy Peterson who drove support the entire time, and Becky Fletcher and Alissa Douglas who rotated between support and riding). Thanks to Coach Ertl for the lectures and on the on-the-road coaching. Also, thanks to all of our riders who made the camp so enjoyable and fun!

Congrats to our riders who posted their first TT times at Elkhart last Thursday. Our team was well represented, even with 26 of us at camp. You can find Elkhart TT results at http://elkhartttseries.blogspot.com/

Finally, the weather is breaking. Looks like 60s and 70s starting tomorrow. We'll train same as always tomorrow, 5:30P from Sycamore Access.

This weekend is a big race weekend, the Iowa City Road Race on Saturday and the Old Capitol Crit on Sunday. Some team members are racing both days; many will do the road race. Check out the race website at http://www.oldcapcrit.com/ . This site has information about both the Saturday and Sunday races. You can register the day of the race,  but they'll charge an extra $5 for "late fee"--most races do not charge this fee...but I'd still register day of unless you are near 100% sure you will be able to race. Coordinate with your team mates to carpool over to the race(s), or share hotel rooms if you're staying for both races. Download the flyer(s) for the race(s) that interest you. Pay attention to the start times, and be sure to give yourself plenty of travel time, plus registration and warm-up time prior to the race. For the road race on Saturday, be absolutely sure to bring your own nutrition...no quicky marts within miles of the start. The church usually has baked goods and hamburgers, etc. for sale to eat after the road race. Or, you can use your own post-race recovery food that works for you. For the road race, most of our male riders and junior men will be Cat. 5, the women except for Lacey and Julie would be Cat. 4; at the crit on Sunday there is a separate junior category available. If  you have any questions about categories, ask any of  your coaches.

There will likely be a training ride on both Saturday and Sunday for those not racing. Watch for the announcement, and pay careful attention to the times the rides will start. It may not be the same time on both Saturday and Sunday.

Take care, and continue to ride safely and courteously.

Arkansas Travelers (and those who couldn't go to Arkansas)

On the Arkansas trip, I gave a talk about eating for health and performance.   I have written down my comments and am making this available to you.  My intent here is to provide you with some quick, easy guidelines to use to eat more nutritionally as well as fuel yourself properly for cycling.  As a competitive cyclist, you put your body through a lot of stress and use a lot of energy.  You need to eat so as to provide yourself with the right nutrients at the right time in the right amounts.

If you have questions about this, please let me know.

Someday I'll turn this into another ebook!

I am sure by now most of you have heard about what happened near Winterset on Saturday morning.

There is a protest ride being organized from Rassmussens on Wednesday at 5:30pm to the State Capitol.  I plan on being there and I encourage everyone to attend.

As with any type of ride like this we will not be riding as a team, but as cyclist.  Please refrain from wearing the team colors, but please come out to support the family of Doug Smith.

There is info posted at the Iowa Bicycle Coalition Website.

-------------- Original message from "Randy Catron" <catronfamily@...>: --------------

The weather looks great for Saturday...there are at least three training options for Saturday:

1) "The Breakfast Ride": This a tempo ride from either Bike World West or the Waukee Trail Head to Redfield (for breakfast) and back. Ride is on the trail going to Redfield. Ride leaves Bike World West at 6:15A, or Waukee Trail Head at 6:45A.

2) Rassy's Shootout: This is a race-pace ride from Des Moines to Winterset and back. Hilly and fast..recommended for stronger riders. Meet at Rasmussen Bike Shop - 301 Grand in West Des Moines. (Please park in the Tokens Family Fun Center lot)
Ride starts at 7am. Course is an out and back to Winterset (Several hills) Race Pace.

3) DMOS/RDMB Training Ride: Leave Starbucks at Noon and head to Minburn or points west. Minburn would be about 50 mile round trip. Those wanting a shorter ride can do the Granger loop, and those wanting a longer ride can head west of Minburn. This will be a tempo-paced ride, not slow, but not as fast as the Rassy's Shootout.

For Sunday which is a holiday, we'll say 1 p.m. at Starbucks. However, many of us have family obligations that day, so don't plan on a big turnout (if any at all). That doesn't mean don't train on Sunday (there is the most convenient roller or trainer option), it just means that several of us will be working in the training around our family and other obligations for that day.

Upcoming races and events:
Arkansas Team Camp: Wed, April 15 thru Sun, April 19
Elkhart TT #1: Thursday, April 16  http://elkhartttseries.blogspot.com/
Mayor's Ride for Trails: Saturday, April 18   http://www.bikeiowa.com/asp/features/featuresdisplay.asp?ArticleID=944
Eagle Point Crit (Dubuque): Sunday, April 19  https://www.usacycling.org/events/getflyer.php?permit=2009-999
Iowa City Road Race (Sat. April 25) and Iowa City Crit (Sat. April 26) http://www.oldcapcrit.com/
Waterworks Park Race (Thurs, April 30): This is iffy...depends on the road condition

Anyone not going to Arkansas should plan to do the Elkhart TT and Mayors Ride (to show the jersey/sponsors promotion). The Iowa City Road Race is probably the largest road race in Iowa, and the Old Capitol Crit is a race for those who good bike handling skills and the ability to corner at high speed. There will be many of us at the Iowa City Road Race...definitely a classic Iowa race! The Eagle Point Crit in Dubuque is about a 1-mile circuit in a park in Dubuque overlooking the Mississippi. As crits go, it is not overly technical...no 90 degree corners.. a couple tight curves and a sweeping curve or two. This would be a good first crit for someone wanting to do a crit (I've done Eagle Point a couple times).

Ride Safe...

Arkansas Travelers

I have offered to provide a couple of discussion sessions on Thursday
and Friday evenings after dinner.  I went to a training camp when I was
a junior (many moons ago) and they offered seminars in the evening so I
thought I'd offer that as well to help20augment our camp.  It would be a
good idea to do some strething/massage during these seminars while you
listen.

On Thursday evening I will be discussing the tactics of racing, not so
much how to do tactics as much as how to work on tactics in training.
Much of the discussion will be on the implications of drafting and how
to use it to your advantage and how to train for it's effects.  One
thing I see a lot of, especially in beginner racers or those who do
primarily time trials, is they are often quickly dropped when the pace
picks up.  We'll discuss how to train so that you can avoid getting
dropped and stay with the pack.

On Friday evening I will be discussing nutrition.  I'll give my
philosophy of a healthy diet to consider for everyday purposes (don't
worry, I won't foist my vegetarian diet on you) and then also discuss
how to fuel before, during, and after training rides and races.

Please be thinking of any questions you may have ahead of time and send
them to me or ask me on our trip.

Arkansas Riders,

First, sorry to announce that due to circumstances beyond their
control, Michelle & Fritz will not be joining us, hopefully we'll see
them next year! So new roommate for Ann - Becky and for Terry - Randy
and myself - Vance.

*Next, thank you to all that offered to drive and special thanks to
those that are! The following is the list of drivers & their
passengers;

Allez Car; Becky, Vance, Jake & Theo
Team Douglas Truck; Dave, Allissa, Lacey & Kale
Tinkerbell Van; Julie, Ann, Ryan & Nate
Dr P.B. Van; Bob, Nancy, Terry & Terry
Coach Sunshine; Randy, Colan, Danny & David
Hammer Van; Dave, Chris, Dan D & Jon
Cindy & Barb will be driving their own vehicles separately due to their
having to leave before the rest of us.

*We will meet at 4:30 pm Wednesday at the Wynnsong Movie Theater in
Johnston (same place as last year), it is across 86th street  from
Starbuck's where we usually meet for weekend training rides. Park in
the NW corner of the lot, load bikes, equipment and riders and
hopefully be southbound by 5 pm. Plan on your evening meal before we
leave, we won't be stopping for dinner inroute. Bring your own snack &
drink for the drive down, there will be a gas/snack stop on the south
side of K.C.

*Please try to pack smart, small &=C
2light, space will be at a minimum
for gear. Of main importance is your cycling gear/clothing. DON'T
FORGET YOUR SHOES & HELMET!! We will be riding even if it is a light to
moderate rain (as long as the temp is above 50 and there is no severe
weather!) and morning temps could be chilly, so wind jacket, arm/leg
warmers, full finger gloves, ear/head cover is recommended along with
your regular gloves, jersey & shorts. Hopefully it will be sunny &
warm, so don't forget sunscreen & sunglasses! Also, don"t forget your
swimsuit for the hot tub & pool.

*Breakfast will be at the hotel as previously stated and lunch will be
on the road. Be sure to have cash for lunch/snacks on the road, as some
of the c-stores don't take credit cards. Everyone should also have
energy snacks with them while on the bike (gu/gel packs, clif bar,
etc.) along with your two water bottles.
We usually do evening meals as a group, but is not required. Keep in
mind Coach Ertl's Thurs-Friday evening seminars @ 8:00pm when
considering dinner plans.

If you have any questions/concerns, please contact me or Coach Catron.

LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT CAMP!! -Hammerman

Thanks for going to this Woody and who ever else goes, of course I will be on the way to Arkansas.  This one actually has me slightly freaked out, because I had done that ride a few times this year.  And that would have been the group I would have returned to town with after getting waxed by the leaders.  I met Doug on the first ride and he is a really cool guy.

I will see if I can drum up some rider from Ames and send them down as well.

My recommendation if anyone asks, is that every time some one goes into renew their drivers license they have to retake the test.  Not only do I get ran off the road on my bike but it also happens when I'm in my car.

I'll be at Starbuck's @ 1:00 (on my single) if anyone cares to join me. -Hammerman

I have offered to provide a couple of discussion sessions on Thursday and Friday evenings after dinner.  I went to a training camp when I was a junior (many moons ago) and they offered seminars in the evening so I thought I'd offer that as well to help augment our camp.  It would be a good idea to do some strething/massage during these seminars while you listen.

On Thursday evening I will be discussing the tactics of racing, not so much how to do tactics as much as how to work on tactics in training.  Much of the discussion will be on the implications of drafting and how to use it to your advantage and how to train for it's effects.  One thing I see a lot of, especially in beginner racers or those who do primarily time trials, is they are often quickly dropped when the pace picks up.  We'll discuss how to train so that you can avoid getting dropped and stay with the pack.

On Friday evening I will be discussing nutrition.  I'll give my philosophy of a healthy diet to consider for everyday purposes (don't worry, I won't foist my vegetarian diet on you) and then also discuss how to fuel before, during, and after training rides and races.

Please be thinking of any questions you may have ahead of time and send them to me or ask me on our trip.

Bring your own snack & drink for the drive down, there will be a gas/snack stop on the south side of K.C.

*Please try to pack smart, small & light, space will be at a minimum for gear. Of main importance is your cycling gear/clothing. DON'T FORGET YOUR SHOES & HELMET!! We will be riding even if it is a light to moderate rain (as long as the temp is above 50 and there is no severe weather!) and morning temps could be chilly, so wind jacket, arm/leg warmers, full finger gloves, ear/head cover is recommended along with your regular gloves, jersey & shorts. Hopefully it will be sunny & warm, so don't forget sunscreen & sunglasses! Also, don"t forget your swimsuit for the hot tub & pool.

*Breakfast will be at the hotel as previously stated and lunch will be on the road. Be sure to have cash for lunch/snacks on the road, as some of the c-stores don't take credit cards. Everyone should also have energy snacks with them while on the bike (gu/gel packs, clif bar, etc.) along with your two water bottles.
We usually do evening meals as a group, but is not required. Keep in mind Coach Ertl's Thurs-Friday evening seminars @ 8:00pm when considering dinner plans.

If you have any questions/concerns, please contact me or Coach Catron.

From now on our DMOS/RDMB training rides on Tuesdays will be help at the Sycamore Access in Johnston.  We won't necessarily be sending out notices about this on a weekly basis, just plan on it happening each week.     We will plan to leave at 5:30 PM.  We will typically offer a road ride option and an option to train within Saylorville Park.  If the weather is really bad and you don't know if we will ride, assume we will unless it's pouring or thunderstorming.   If the weather is bad, you can plan on a light turnout.  You may choose to train indoors instead.

Room #13 - Randy Catron & Dave Hammer

The room rate is $79+tax  per night and includes the "all you care to eat" hot breakfast buffet. You will not be disappointed with this breakfast! Plenty for all tastes!
*You & your roommate are responsible for full payment on the room. I suggest that one of you pay for the first two nights & the other pay for the second two, simple.

*New for this year, Coach Ertl will be presenting two training seminars on Thursday & Friday evening. They will include question and answer opportunities so you'll be sure to want to attend these informative seminars!! Tentative start times will be after dinner @ 8:00pm in one of the hotel meeting rooms.

*Please have your bike tuned before the trip. If you have Shimano STI shifters and have used the same inner wire shift cables for 2 full seasons or more, I suggest that you have them replaced as preventive maintenance as their design leads to the ends breaking off without warning, leaving one without the ability to shift! Not good in the Ozarks.
Check your brake cables for any signs of wear/fraying and that your brake pads are more than half of their original thickness.
*The Ozark hill's will be steeper and longer than any you'll find in central IA, so I suggest that you set up your gearing accordingly. Younger, lighter riders can probably get away with a low gear combo of  39t x 25T. Older, not as light riders such as myself, I recommend a minimum 39t x 27t gear combo, otherwise you will spend a fair amount of out of the saddle climbing, leading to very tired/sore legs! If you have questions/concerns regarding your bikes gearing, give me a call.
Your tires should be in good shape. Everyone is expected to carry at least one tube, patch kit and pump/CO2 with them.
Everyone should carry two water bottles, preferably the larger volume bottles, filled with an electrolyte/carb replacement fluid.
Also, check your pedal cleats, especially plastic/nylon ones as they wear down from walking and with age, become brittle leading to cracks & failure. Check and make sure the mounting bolts are secure.
*You'll want to perform the previous suggestions as soon as possible so that you can get some break in miles on the road and make any additional adjustments before the weekend.
You DO NOT want to be trying out any new "contact point" items for the weekend. Use only tried & true shoes, shorts, saddle, helmet & gloves in good condition. It is best that these items be broke-in on shorter local training rides until your body becomes conditioned to these new contact points, or you may be nursing a sore/injured "something or other" alone in your hotel room!

*I will send out another e-mail over the weekend concerning meeting time, place and car pooling logistics and clothing suggestions.
Until then, let's keep doing our best to get in the miles and have our bikes tuned!!

      Hi Team,

The weather this weekend in Iowa does not look great. Saturday looks slightly better than Sunday, but there are significant rain chances both days. So, let's hope the weather front stalls or moves!

For Saturday, lets meet at Starbucks on 86th Street at NOON. This is an hour earlier than normal...it will increase our odds of getting in miles before the rain may come.

On Sunday, if it is not raining or about to rain, meet at Starbucks at 1 P.M.

For those of you who want better odds of not riding in the rain, or getting rained out, there is a 200K brevet in Kansas City on Saturday morning (7A start time). The forecast for KC on Saturday is partly sunny, windy, and high around 70. Distance from Urbandale to the brevet start is about 200 miles (about 3 hours drive time). If anyone is going to this brevet and wants to coordinate with other team members, just put  a message out to the team list.

Let's hope this weather breaks! It has to soon.

      Team

Just a reminder that as we are getting into spring and the ensuing ramp up in your training miles and intensity, this is a good time to get your annual physical.  Whatever your age or health, I highly recommend that you get an annual physical.   You put your body through a lot of stress training so be sure to tell your doctor that.  Don't just tell him/her that you exercise.  Be sure to say that you push yourself to close to your maximum heart at times and make sure your doctor is aware of that and is comfortable with you doing so.  Most insurance programs cover an annual physical.  Be sure to take advantage of it.  Don't just assume you are healthy.  Get a second opinion.

If you don't have a primary care physician, our Team Physician is Marc Molis, MD MolisMA@... Clinic 515.276.3406.  You might give him a call.  He's familiar with what we do as bike racers.

      Thanks for doing this.

Wednesday Night is Ladies Night Out at Bikeworld at the new store at 6600 Douglas.

If you want to check out some new wheels, there are TREK demo Rides from 4-7 and then a Women's Gala from 7-9.

We would like to have a couple representatives of the team there to help out.  Bring a Jersey, they have a mannequin (ladyquin) to put it on, and talk about the race team and show off the jersey.  Joe B has some Green Days Flyers to hand out, and he can possibly bring them tonight if I got this email to him in time....

The event is detailed on the flyer that is attached, ladies only...so it would be great to have some of the Lady DMOS RDMB crew there.

Please let me know if you are available to help out.

I'm just wondering how many are still planning on going given the weather outlook.  Looks like it will be about 32 degrees at race start.

If your going, are you driving from Des Moines in the morning?

      Thanks,
      Chris

OK kids! I'm ready to ride! Hammer and Barb are in charge of the WX
since they have parents that live nearby...and we all love to play the
      blame game!

Now for the logistics, I can drive--FAST! My fully equipped minivan
will hold up to 7 energetic, chatty DMOS riders! Although the van is
another year older, the same rules apply from last year: no sticky
juice boxes, food fights, slugging contests, Chinese Fire Drills, or
unbuckling your seat belts (which also means you are NOT allowed to
play musical chairs while the engine is running!). Chocolate is fine
      as
long as you share with others (especially the driver) but please
refrain from smearing it on the seats or ceiling. I still have 3
      separate video screens and
6 head phones. However you will NOT be allowed to bring your porn
flicks (one of you wanted to bring your collection last year--won't
      mention any names)!

We will not get lost at any point during our travels because "Bitchin'
Betty" is still my chief navigator...although sometimes she has a mind
of her own....at which point my co-pilot Blondie takes over.

One more thing....since I am a control freak (imagine that), I do not
appreciate backseat drivers so if you are one of those, I WILL NOT
hesitate to use blindfolds and duct tape--just ask the swim team kids
      in my carpool!

The number of bikes and cargo that my van will hold depends upon
whether Woody is willing to pack the van and whether Blondie brings her
kitchen sink along with ALL her worldly possessions!

      Tink

PS BONUS POINTS and PRIZES will be awarded to anyone who protects me
      from the dogs!
