Team Indoor Training Starts This Tuesday!!!!

DMOS/RDMB Race Team:

Our 2008/9 Indoor Training Season begins this Tuesday, Nov 4.  Training begins at 6:00 PM sharp so be there between 5:30 and 5:50 to get set up and start warming up.

Thanks to all who showed up today to get the room ready.   It looks great and we are ready to roll, literally.

Each week I will send out a .pdf document which has the current week's workout, as well as all previous week's workouts so you can have a record of them.  I've attached the first one to this message.

A few reminders:

Please try to arrive before 6:00PM.   We start training at 6:00 so we won't be at the front door (which may be locked) to let you in unless you call and let us know you will need to get in. If it's locked, you can walk around to the back and knock on our window to let us know you need to get in.  Our room is straight down the main hallway as you come in the front door.

We also want you to arrive before 6:00 so that you can get your bike set up without disrupting our workout.   We realize that some of you may not be able to get there until 6, but do your best to get in and set up without creating too much ruckus.

Please use the lockers in the hallway to stash your coats and bags.  Space will be tight in our training room as we get 20 or more people and bikes so let's not clutter it up and take up space with our other stuff.  If you want, you can bring a lock for the lockers to keep valuables safe.

This year I will be referring a lot to threshold pace for our training and to get the most out of workouts,  I highly encourage that you use a heart rate monitor (or power meter if you have one).  Our first session this Tuesday will be a threshold test to help you determine your threshold heart rate test to use in future indoor sessions.  If you don't have a heart rate monitor, I can help you out.  I happen to be a Polar dealer and can get heart rate monitors for you at wholesale price.  I have a few I can bring Tuesday and can put in an order for the team but will need about six people to order them to get enough to put in an order.  I will have a brochure with me on Tuesday.  By the way, I'm not making money on these by the time I pay shipping, so this isn't a self-serving motive, I'm just offering this as a service to the team. You can also go to Sports Authority to pick one up at a good price if you'd like to get one before Tuesday. I really recommend you use a heart rate monitor so you can dial in the appropriate effort level to get the most out of your workouts.

Let's see if we can not only maintain our fitness but improve it this winter!

See you Tuesday.
