Ride opportunity Saturday

Team
Here is a cycling event you might consider for Saturday if you don't have anything planned. It's a chance to ride and do some good at the same time.  Cost is a donation to a good cause.

Please consider doing this for your Saturday ride.

LIVESTRONG RIDE FOR LARISSA, you can make a difference!
THIS SATURDAY 10/4

This had come up quickly, but is now moving ahead
to be a great ride to help a little 2 year old girl who
is battling cancer. Larissa Dockum is only one of
25 cases in the past 40 years to have this very rare
brain tumor, and is currently being treated at the
Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The is a fundraiser that
has been planned this Saturday by friends of the
family. LIVESTRONG Chaper member Joe Cory had
already organized a reunion of the Ragbrai LIVESTRONG
Team to do a ride this Saturday and suggested we
change it to benefit Larissa and has ordered her
some LIVESTRONG clothing to present to her. Here is the
plan. the ride will leave BIKE WORLD WEST, Ashworth
and 60th in West Des Moines at 9:00am and make a
Northwest loop toward Grimes and then West and
South to Bike World at Merle Hay and Urbandale Avenue.
Those interested in a shorter route (the first is 30+ miles)
will be waiting there to join the first group at 11:00am
and then all ride together to the The Unknown Bar,
2222 Forest Avenue where there will be a chili meal
available for $5 and an auction to raise funds for the
family. In addition to the Livestrong clothing Bike
World will give Larissa a new Trek Trike. It will be
Yellow For Larissa Day in both Bike World Stores
with anyone donating $5 or more receiving a FREE
LIVESTRONG shirt and anyone making the ride will
also receive a FREE LIVESTRONG shirt. ALL those
riding WILL wear LIVESTRONG attire.
This has come together fast but here is a chance
for you to help make a difference in someones life,
please try to join us, and get friends, neighbors,
those at work to all stop in and make a donation.
(NOTE-Livestrong shirts will be available on a first
arrive basis).
