Team,
The following is a training opportunity forwarded by our bikin' buddy Pat
O'Bryan and has invited all who care to attend. This is a non-supported casual
rec ride (15-18avmph) so be prepared with money ($6 all-you-can-eat
breakfast), tube/pump/patches, two bottles and lights if your leaving from
Bike World. (They depart @ 6:00am & 6:30am sharp!!! not a minute later!)
The wife & I will be riding the tandem and will not be doing the total 200K.
Please leave your race mentality at home if you plan to ride with the group,
this is not a race training ride, just a group of old guys like yours truly
that like to talk while riding and take quick stops at c-stores. ----------
-----Subject: The weather is perfect for a 200K ride!!!
Whether you want to ride 25 miles or 125 please join in the fun this Saturday
for our annual 200K ride. We'll ride the trail out to Redfield then on to
Jefferson. On the way home we'll probably wind through the country roads and
enjoy the crops and company.
Saturday the 20th of September
Depart: 6:00 AM Bike World (this is a full moon so plenty of light!)
6:30 AM Waukee (perfect place to start for a nice ride out to Redfield
for breakfast, don't feel obligated to ride the whole thing, I'm sure John
Brown will wimp out again)
Dinner at Larry's Saturday night. Larry McClellan (really Jennifer) has
offers to host a pot luck dinner this year. He has heard for a few of us but
not all so if your planning to attend please contact Larry today @
lmclellan@.... Once he knows who is coming he'll let us know
what to bring. Personally I'm planning to sit on his deck and move as little
as possible.
Also I saw our long lost friend Nils Jaeger last week. He and his family are
settling into their new place in Luxembourg. He claims to be riding very
little but who knows what that means. They are expecting their second child
in 2 weeks, that will free him to ride more (not).
Get out and enjoy this great weather and see you Saturday!!!
