Hey all, Thanks for your patients so Colin could get in his last runs. I was
only a half hour late for work so it wasn't that bad for me. I was in charge so
no one to whine at me for being late.
I let Colin dress down for this event as it was hot. He wore a jacket and jeans
instead of his driving suit. I was getting the last of the stuff out of the
truck today and found that his driving suit wasn't there. I had taken it out and
placed it on the ground by my tool box and evedently didn't pick it up. PLEASE
if anyone picked it up, let me know and I will figure a way to meet and get it
back for him. He will need it for the next Monicello event.
Thanks again, Timmi

Hello Mr Rob, I am probably going to make it. Can you give me a quick call if possible? 766.7014 thanks Ian

As far as I know the teams are not finalized. Come out tomorrow morning and we'll do what we did last year, get on the scale until we find four drivers that hit the mininum weight which I think is 750 or 800 lbs. Last year we had something like four SCCA teams compete. It was fun.
The kart track can probably loan you a rib vest or you can bring along two pillows.
I might make it. I think it's 5 drivers per team.

all mean egotism vanishes. I become a transparent eyeball; I am nothing; I see all ~ Emerson
Humor is the only test of gravity, and gravity of humor; for a subject which will not bear raillery is suspicious, and a jest which will not bear serious examination is false wit. - Aristotle
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
~Carl Sagan
My doctor says that I have a malformed public-duty gland and a natural deficiency in moral fibre and that I am therefore excused from saving universes. --Life, The Universe and Everything
Socrates (Peaceful Warrior movie): People are not theirs thoughts, they think they are, and it brings them all kinds of sadness.

I am going to try to be there. I won't be able to bring the Z for the show but I
would be more than happy to be the "heavy" member of a kart team.

At the club's request a new Forum has been created for Dixie Region at:

Come join us in the Dixie Lounge to bench race, sell some race junk in the
Classified Ad section or post info about an upcoming event in the Announcement
section.
We can add more forum categories at any time so let me know if you have a
suggestion or ideas.
There is also a link to the new Forum from the Dixie SCCA website.
See you in the Dixie SCCA Forum.

So, Patron Highcroft gets penalized in the pits (and thus loses the lead and the
win) for the Gas Guy not having on a helmet and goggles, when in fact he did and
the officials immediately stated it was a mistake. I heard that after the race,
the FIA gave that official a call and offered him the head F1 Racing Steward
job. ^_^
Congrats Timi on the Red Bull One-Two. Looks like you and us Honda Guys (to
some extent) are finally getting what we've been waiting for.
P.S.: Congrats to Heikki Kovalainen for going more that one lap this time!

FYI -- Recent updates posted to the Dixie site www.dixiescca.com :
- Tracy Lewis set up new online registration at MotorsportsReg.com for Dixie
Events. This replaces the old MyAutoEvents registration.
- Bryan Batchelor, Solo Chair, secures new event site venue at Spence Field in
Moultrie, Ga.
- New Solo event date added to schedule -- July 19, 2009 at Spence Field,

Hey, guys... it looks like y'all don't have a local event coming up until May,
so I thought you might be interested in running at the Black Lake:
[img]http://www.scsportscar.com/conten\
t/board-uploads/flyers/20090418_bl_flyer.png[/img]
This is in Laurens, SC - it's a good 7 hours from Tallahassee, but it's worth
the trip! If you've never run here before, it's 1440 ft x 400 ft. of completely
smooth, perfect asphalt with no poles, curbs or other obstacles.
Registration is open at MotorsportReg.com now. Please note that there is no
on-site registration for this event, and that due to Michelin site restrictions,
all drivers must be age 18 or older (including Jr. Karts, sorry).

Thanks... hope to see a few of you there!

The Chattanooga Region SCCA will be hosting the 5th annual Track Trials event at
Nashville Superspeedway May 16-17, 2009. Cost is $225 if registered before May
4th, $250 after May 4th. As usual, we're trying new things to get more track
time & less time sitting in grid for our drivers. We're going to be doing 6 hot
laps per session, running the maximum number of cars we can safely run in each
pod in an attempt to double the amount of laps each driver can take. We'll also
be doing touring laps for the workers each day, and providing food and prizes
for the workers as well. To volunteer to work, contact Miles Phillips at
milesphillips@... , or with general questions about the event,
contact David McDaniel at hoserracing@... The website address is
http://www.rivergate5speed.com/scca/timetrials/nashville.html We look forward
to seeing you there!
I've got a few pics as well from the event. Check them out. If you guys want any for the Dixie website, just let me know.
