Well I'm glad you managed to miss the last sentence that said this
is not directed at anyone in particular. Now if you'd like to unwad
your panties I'd like to make a few points.
Bringing up issues at general membership meetings, especially for
new unestablished members, it's hard to be heard. I know that this
particular issue has been brought up several times in meetings. As
soon as it was mentioned there were 5 people ready to say why it was
such a bad idea. ALso everytime it was not brought up by one of the
long-time dixie faithful. In turn it was the long-timers that almost
attacked the idea(not the person). There is a seems to be a
sentiment within the club that ideas are only exceptable from the
chosen few. When the ideas aren't fromt those sources they are
damned buy those few. This is even the case at the board meeting,
there are these factors put in place by people who aren't even on
the board. Now I'm all for being as involved as you care to be but
at some point there has to be something positive from an individuals
involvment. Otherwise they might as well not be. now again this is
not directed at anyone person, so don't try to make it.
My point here is the membership meetings are not always conducive to
people volunteering their ideas. I've watch pleanty of ideas be shot
down before the person was even done conveying what they had to say.
So don't give me any crap about responding to what you typed. It was
just that, a simple response. I had already planned on bringing up
the display issue when appropriate. Now is the time, there are more
people that seem ready for the purchase.
Now one more time for good measure. This nothing personal. They line
of reasoning that you expressed earlier has just worn thin. It is
the same school of thought that seems to keep the club from growing.
I know the site is a factor. But you know what, if we really had our
stuff together we could overcome the crappy site and still
retain/gain members. Your right time is the best thing to donate.
Time on the weekend is even better. Unfortunatly I work saturdays
and race everywhere I can on Sundays. So I don't have anovewhelming
amount to donate, before you chastise me for it. But I don't look
down on anyone who has that same lacking.
I'm getting long winded here sorry. I could continue with my point
but I'll stop hoping you can see this side of it. If not we can
discuss it in person or on the phone. I think we are in agreement on
some issues here though. Thanks for reading ;)
