Don't know what people's plans are in relation to New Years Fest vs.
Trouble in Vegas (or if there are any plans), but I got an e-mail from
a Mr. Justin Haley of Penultimate fame.

For those of you who know the Penultimate guys they are looking to put
together a team. Focused on, and I quote here, "We have no lofty ideas
of winning much, except perhaps a boat race here and there." Pen needs
three or so more guys and want "fun" players and supposedly Disco Elvis
people are fun, or so Justin tells me.

I am unsure of my own plans, need to run it all past my boss and look
at my schedule. But if you are interested Justin can be reached at
jjhaley att earthlink doot nett

NYF is January 27-28 in Tempe AZ

Hey there all you X squared chromosomes!! There will be a
tournament that is happening here in Vegas, Feb 11th - Feb 13th.
Trouble in Vegas is the name and it is a three day tourney. It is
one of the largest tournaments thrown in the United States and it is
right here in our back yard. 32 women's teams will be attending
including us!

Jen and I are putting together a women's team for the weekend and
wanted all the women of Las Vegas to be a part of it. Our goal for
the weekend: To have lots of fun playing ultimate!! This would be
a great opportunity for fresh and seasoned players. Please join us
even if you haven't played in awhile (especially all you summer
league ladies!!).

Since the tourney is about one month out, we were thinking of
getting together on Saturdays for pick-up at Goett Park (that is a
coed event) and potentially Monday nights to throw (a girls only
event). Please let me know if you are interested (even if that
means you can only play on one of the three days) by either
responding to this email or call Jen or I. My number is 401 5975
and Jen's is 370 4079. Hope to hear from you soon!!

Jen and Megan

On November 11th, Disco Elvis should come to Lancaster, CA for the
High Desert Challenge II.

Play multiple competitive games against people you've never played
before. Realism - the best kind of training! Both the Lancaster team
and the Ridgecrest team has a couple of really athletic players, a
couple of good handlers, and lots of great Spirit.

Afterwards, enjoy the kick-azz party (with hot tub!) at a private
house (read: get as wild as you like) with plenty of crash space
available.

The games start at 2pm on Saturday November 11th, and end at sundown.
If you really wanted to skip the party, it's possible to daytrip the
event, but why would you want to do that?

Contact me at dmreda AT aol DOT com, or Mark Fuller via the website
avultimate.org

Better bring your 'A' game!

FITH!

I am putting together a DiscoElvis team for this year's
tournament. The dates are December 9th and 10th. I would like an email
from anyone who is interested in playing this year to contact me as soon
as possible. Keep in mind that this year (as always) the tourney is UPA
sanctioned and that means you must be a UPA member in some fashion.
That is either you are already a full member or you pay a 1 time nominal
fee for the tourney. This is a co-ed tourney so we need men and women
to participate. I am targeting 2 or at most 3 practices to get ready
and the same type of fun that we had last year. Please let me know if
you are interested in participating as soon as possible. Before you
ask, ANYONE is welcome even someone who has never played. It is a great
chance to play an entire day of Ultimate and get a lot of chances to
play and see levels of play from crappy to awesome.

This is an UN-BELIEVABLE account. A great write-up
James! Thanks for taking the time and effort to keep
us informed. Amazing amazing tourney. Wish I could
have been there to see that final game!!!

Good job guys who played. I think I played with some
of those people from Burbank when I went down for the
St. Pats Hat. Some of my team-mates were unbearable
with their calls. I felt like wringing their necks.
They just had aweful spirit against every team we
played against. We'd be stomping the other team like
10-2 and they'd be yelling at the other team, yelling
at each other, and yelling at the grass.

It was ridiculous. I was actually kinda bummed my
team ended up winning the St. Pats hat-because I think
there were other more talented/better spirited teams
out there! I didn't play on the second day because I
wasn't feeling well-and also because Dennis' team was
way more fun to hang out with!!!

Anyways, don't mean to rant when I'm so excited for
ya'll.

Did Elvis make the journey to Santa Barbara this weekend? The team
has been to the SB Classic for a couple of years running, but I
didn't see you all talking about it online.

What about Daweena, for that matter? That is some stiff competition,
for sure. Fun too, b/c we used to get to play teams from Montana,
Colorado, and other far-away places.

The mrs. and I are living the life of hat-tourneys. St. Pats Hat in
March, and Hats Hops Hucks coming up in July. We had to skip a
Sacramento hat in April due to the impending trip to Japan (which was
pretty awesome, btw. Just gotta find a web site that will let us
upload 277 MB worth of pics.... :-)

I hope you all are planning to do Lucky 7's again in the fall. With
the way the number of teams has grown in that one, it really puts
Vegas on the (Ultimate) map!

Much love, my homies! Hope to see you soon!

Hi Everyone,
My dogs are not getting along and are fighting all the time so I have to
find a new home for one of my sweet dogs. Valentino is just over two years
old and is micro chipped and neutered. He loves people and loves to play
and hike in the desert..he's a real sweetheart. I hate to part with him but
we can't live in constant fear of another fight, plus I can't afford the
ever increasing vet bills resulting from their fights.
Please think about adopting him!! He's a great dog! I attached some photos
so you can see just how cute he really is.

Too funny!

I think it'll fit under a jumpsuit....probably considered good Spirit
if you share with your opponent during a point.... :-)

Hi all,

I and some friends and family are backpacking down to Havasu Falls this
weekend (Easter weekend). I have one extra permit due to a cancellation and am
offering it to anyone who wants to go with us. We are leaving Las Vegas
Thursday afternoon (about 3pm-ish) and returning late Sunday (about 9pm-ish).
I
have some extra equipment, and you can also rent equipment at REI pretty
cheap. It's a place I've wanted to go for 5 years and am finally going. The
hike
is moderately strenuous for about 1.5 miles; otherwise relatively easy.
There are beautiful waterfalls and swimming pools. Check out the following
websites for more information.
