Thanks Dan,
I've really enjoyed my time in Phoenix, and hope to be back someday
soon. I fixed the date for Fountain (and I will be back for that
tourney). For those that don't know, I've accepted a job in Orlando,
and I'll be moving there next month.

Several Phonecians made the trip to La Mirada, California for the So.
Cal championships.
Results:
Not suprisingly, Ken Climo won open, and Juliana Bower won pro women.
Team Az. did well with Rory and Milldog cashing in Open, Cup, BigEd, and
Ron Klein all cashing in Masters, and Jim (playing Open for the first
time) and Russ (playing pro masters) finishing respectably, but out of
the cash. Karen also went, but unfortunately didn't do as well as the
rest of team Arizona.
The same crew plus Dan-O, Lance, Steve Johnston (Snowflake Steve), and
hopefully a few more will be in Vegas this weekend.

For anyone interested.
There is a tournament for the qualification of the AZ Disc Golf Team this
Saturday at 9:00am. Fountain Hills. A lot of the great golfers in AZ will
be there. Come play and donate some money, $5. The lake is down so you
probably won't lose any plastic and you should be able to find the course
easily. BTW, I will have a map for the Fountain posted at
www.azdiscgolf.com here pretty soon.
Lance
Did you get a reply yet.
We usually have a tournament in February and a huge one in early March. The
schedule isn't firm yet but if you keep an eye on
http:\\www.azdiscgolf.com you should be able to keep abreast of the
happenings. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I'm sure that Dan-O doesn't even want to think about next year's
schedule, but, this year we had our annual Hoopes Hoopla tournament on
Feb 20th. Phoenix's biggest tourney of the year (the Bob West Memorial)
was help March 6-7th. Dan, are you planning on keeping that the same
weekend?
Jim
Hi all
I am visiting Pheonix in February 2000 from London and was interested in
finding out if there were any tournaments around that time that I could
attend.

OK, the "new old guy" was Jim Cooper. It was #16 that he aced twice.
I was in his group for the second one and it was meant to be. We
got up to 16B box. Someone asked where the basket was and Jim spoke
up that he knew exactly where it was. I guess he did.
Congrats if your out there Jim, it WAS amazing.
(move over Superman I have a new hero)
thanks for the results from the monsoon madness. its pretty cool to get the
standings so quickly after an event.
carolyn and jason, r u out there?

From memory (Scott C. / Dave S. are you on the list yet?)
Rory beat Wisecup to take open (Dan G. was not there)
Not sure about pro Masters, maybe Kelly Beitel?
Advanced was Paul Ketchmark edging out Chad (Motheral???) in the final
round.
Intermediates had a local new guy (can't remember his name) beating out Coy,
both would've been top-5 in advanced (sandbaggers, both of 'em).
There was a large Advanced Masters division, with another new old guy
(actually, dragged out of retirement by Jim Stitt) winning. He aced hold
#16 (or was it 17) twice for the only aces of the tournament.
The only woman was Karen Borges (she's on the list). Serina is recovering
from surgery, and Carolyn didn't make the trip down. Karen played
Intermediate men, and missed the payout by two strokes.
entered instead of tabbed. i hate that.
how was tucson? who took open? ams? women?

Welcom Mike, glad you found us. There's only about 20 people on the list so
far. I really just started advertising the list about a week ago, even though
I set it up back in June.
> played some doubles this evening. anyone know coy matthews?
Yeah, we know Coy. One of the biggest sanbaggers out there. He should be
playing advanced, but he likes to hang back in the Intermediate division and
try to win every tournament.
Do you know about the tourney in Tucson tomorrow? One disc, two rounds plus a
final-9.
Jim

We've had several people sign up for the list in the last few days, so
I'm sending out this 2nd reminder:
Reminder, Monsoon Madness is Saturday, Sept. 4th in Tucson.
http://home.earthlink.net/~dashircore/monsoonmadness.html
Also, Monday doubles at Conocido has moved back to 5:00 so we can finish
before dark. Come on out, and donate to Wisecup (or get lucky and get
paired with him).
Jim
Teva Open flyers can be found at
http://www.azdiscgolf.com
Players package includes an XL and a mini. Pro payout is at least 100% and
there will be 10 pairs of Teva sandals given out to division winners and
drawn participants. CTP prizes will also be awarded.
