Go ahead and move or cancel the Papago monthly if need be. Andy McNeal and I have continued to work on the Papago project. Unforunately, SRP has dragged their heels with an internal review process that will eventually approve or deny a license to begin clean up and construction of the site. We delivered our component of the plan in late October and little more than the decision to turn this into a "project by committee" has occured since. Obviously, SRP does not consider this project a high priority and I can understand that. Fortunately, we still have a determined liaison at the City of Tempe parks. I spoke with him Monday and he is still working on it. Andy or I will update when we have some news. pancho
Actually, it would be better for us to have the Treebash on June 17 & 18th when Sierra Vista is scheduled. We want to turn the Treebash into an A-Tier eventually, and in early May, we probably won't be able to use Snowbowl, and maybe not even McPherson. Snowbowl will need to be in use for a big event, in my opinion.
Schedule doesn't look bad, except for the Treebash being on the same weekend as Golden State. I know that I'm going to GS, and probably Dano and/or Zach. Every year Lance says he wants to go to GS, but I haven't talked to him. I do know that more go to GS than am masters cup. (Although I like the week off between Conocido and Treebash.) Switching Sierra Vista and Treebash may work with flagstaff still being cold in may, and SV being a little warmer in May. Maybe forget or move the monthly at Papago since it fell from the CS status, (and the course is still in decision mode) and put SV on march 25th. This would work the best, because switching SV with Treebash still means I can't play SV. Which is ok as well , considering that SV is a long drive for a 1 day event, and it's not a CS event.
All in all I won't be unhappy if these changes can't be met, I just will not be playing Treebash for sure. Last year the scheduled worked so well for me, that I was able to play every event in the state, and everyone out of the state ( that I wanted to attend), for the 1st time ever. I know it's not a perfect world, and making every event is unrealistic, but I have played Treebash for almost every year and would hate to miss it, but GS is an NT event and I haven't missed that yet. Thanks Steve for the hard work setting the schedule. You really didn't think we wouldn't whine, did you ? :-)
