I sent my message directly to you because I didn’t care to discuss it in an open forum. I was at the players meeting and did listen when you said every group has a person that knows the course and ALL the information needed was on the course description sheet. Both of these statements were untrue. The supposed hole by hole descriptions listed the ob and distance but no description of the hole or where to find the unmarked adv tee boxes and we had to ask others numerous times where our tee was. With crossing fairways and tee pads every 50 feet in all directions I cant imagine how we had trouble. I guess we are just stupid ams. My point was that a map of the course would have been very very helpful. I was supposed to notice that 12 basket was near 13 tee? How about 6 basket with the number 7 on it??? And of course you left out the part where I gave you props for the ball course which was a great time to play. If I remember right I NEVER blamed you for our ineptness but merely stated a course map would have been very helpful since apparently the person on our card that knows the course was invisible and couldn’t speak.

obviously you either:
A) missed the players meeting
B) weren't listening at the player's meeting
C)can't read the documents that explained the course hole by hole
D) can't figure that the basket numbered 12 that was 35 feet from the t-pad numbered 13 you were standing on needed to be played next since you just finished playing hole 11
E) some combination of all of the above
i'm sorry that your group missed the hole, but i spent alot of time moving ALL the t-signs and benches(some multiple times) to make sure that anyone(tournament or casual player) who plays there now can follow the course....
i put ALL of the distances(thanks to jim's range finder) on the sheet along with the ob's(and kept it to 1 sheet to make it easier to carry around and follow) because the tsigns are not accurate on every hole YET....(one project at a time)
i know most people do not pay attention to me when i'm talking, and i made it a point to keep ALL 4 players meetings that i did under 5 minutes each... but i have no sympathy for ANYONE who doesn't pay attention and then finds out THEY made a mistake because of it.....
i appreciate your comments on the golf course and i'll see you at the jerry hopefully...
if this event had not been sanctioned, the td would have probably let you play the hole again or let it slide...but the rules of fair play to all in a pdga event do NOT allow me to give you that option
sometimes it is the always casual cactus series events that are not sanctioned that help people forget and/or not care about the rules when they're playing a sanctioned one....which leads to penalty strokes.....
again...i'm VERY GLAD you came to the event, sorry about what happened at the event and i hope you learned something from what happened so it doesn't happen again(with or without maps)
