All,
Once again we'll be having a team comprised of pickups for GRUB (July 30-31)
this year. If you've been hiding under a rock until now, only to realize
that you don't have a GRUB team to play with, this is your chance to get
involved. If you've never played GRUB before - don't be shy - we'll have a
pretty full range of experience on the team, players from out of town, etc.
I'm coordinating the team, so let me know if you want to have a lot of fun,
meet some cool folks, and help out a great cause (info below)!
Peace, love, and disc,
Mark
1)What is the benefit all about?
GRUB is GRU's annual benefit tourney that allows ultimate players of all
abilities the opportunity to extend the Spirit of the Game to Boulder county
and give back to our community.
2) How is the beneficiary chosen?
GRU targets small, often overlooked non-profits that work in the human
services arena.
3) Who is the 2005 beneficiary?
SAGE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP works to better the lives of our community's most
at-risk youth. Sage provides services for adolescents and young adults whose
experiences include abuse & neglect, mental health issues, substance abuse
and juvenile delinquency. More information about SAGE can be found at:

4) Entry fee and donations
Unlike most tournaments, GRUB collects a per PLAYER entry fee. The team
deposit will NOT be applied to the entry fee and deposits will be returned
at the captains' meeting. The entry fee covers the field expenses, dinner,
the party, prizes and overhead. Any money raised beyond the entry fee will
be donated to the beneficiary, SAGE Community Partnership. Many players (and
teams) rise to the occasion and go beyond the minimal entry fee by
collecting additional pledges.
Pledges can be collected from friends, co-workers and family.
Gathering pledges is highly encouraged. Pledge sheets can be downloaded at:
