No friend of mine is heading up any campaign or counter-campaign of any sort that I know of. I've got no dog in this fight. It's just that when a frisbee list becomes a political megaphone rather than a frisbee list, I feel compelled to offer up an opposing view. Or maybe I'm just feisty today...
Just a suggestion: How about instead of a one-size-fits-all, government imposed solution, we allow freedom of choice? For the patrons, for the owners, AND for the employees. If smoking bothers someone that much, perhaps they shouldn't patronize or seek employment at establishments that allow it. With a growing majority of non-smokers, there's certainly a market for such establishments. Similarly, if loud music bothers someone, they may not want to work in a dance club. Vegetarians could probably choose more satisfying careers than as butchers. These are choices, and choice is generally a good thing, IMHO.
But at least be honest in your arguments. Repackaging the restriction of choice and selling it as spreading freedom is disingenious at best! If you prefer a nanny state to keep everybody safe and comfy at the expense of (others) liberty, at least call it what it is: freedom FROM choice. Sig heil to the neo-prohibitionists!

A friend of mine is heading up this campaign. If you appreciate your
freedom to choose to smoke or not, you can appreciate the need to give
that freedom to people who work in industries where people smoke.
Consider sharing this with a business owner. See attachment.
