Subject: [gru] GRASS 2009
Hey folks,
I'm happy to announce GRASS 2009, June 20-21, to be conducted once again
at the lovely "Red Pod" at the Broomfield Commons in Broomfield, CO.
GRASS is GRU's Savage Seven tournament, which, for those of you who may
not be familiar with the format, involves rosters of ten, seven of whom
(coed 4-3) are picked for each game to play the entirety without subs.
Games are to seven, and there will be lots of them. It's a fun format.
The level of play typically ranges from local "B" league to national
club, and while we're always well-represented by Boulder and Denver
teams, we've also drawn traveling squads from places like California,
Arizona, New Mexico, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and Utah.
I'm contemplating a Masters option this year (obviously self-serving).
If you think you can put together a Masters savage team (men age 33+,
women age 30+), let me know. If we get enough teams, I'll set up at
least a Sunday bracket for old legs. Savage Masters? Why not?
Like last year, the team fee is a nice even $200 (divides well by ten).
The deposit is also a nice even $200.
To submit a bid, send the following:
* team name
* team captain (contact)
* snail mail address
* phone number
* email address
* team fee - $200 (checks made out to "Grass Roots Ultimate")
* seeding information

Feel free to pass this announcement along. In particular, can someone
put it out on the Denver list? Thanks.
Savage ultimate. Savage fun.
Cheers,
Tyson
