If you are planning on attending the CB Hat this year, you MUST
pre-register. (Please.) A couple reasons why: We have an awesome Caterer
this year serving up a big meal. It'd be more than helpful to know the
number of servings. Two, we only have so much field space and I want to
assure teams of 14 for more playing time. We are really close to our numbers
and will cut off registration this week.



If you are already registered, you are psyched! Here a couple mandatory
items you must bring:

[1] a bike for your transportation. (certainly walking will work. We will
supply bike lights for $5)

[2] a water bottle or container. (we will not be supplying water bottles
this year to reduce waste and impact)

[3] a "refreshment" cup for your recreational beverages of choice. (beer
will be provided at all events)

[4] barnyard type of hat or costume.

[5] this is a no waste/low waste event, please assist with making no impact.



FRIDAY:

Check in with the campground host when you arrive. Flashflight light up
flying discs games and night of activities including a very "lit" game of
ultimate. Teams chosen right at dusk. Cups/Frickets tourney. Simple throw
and catch, croquet, disc golf.



SATURDAY:

Breakfast, all day ultimate, big dinner, showers, bike parade, party, band.



SUNDAY:

18 hole Disc Golf Tourney. Prizes for top places for both genders. (options
to ride some trails too)

Hey everyone!

You're receiving this email because you are pre-registered for the CB Hat
this August. I want to extend a personal invite to you all before I spam all
the Colorado disc groups again. Please invite your favorite disc-playing
friends before the reservations are full. GRUB is this weekend in Boulder
and I will be "pimping" the CB Hat pretty hard and would expect that it will
fill up again in the next few weeks.



Great news for us already playing; I just watched the sod get rolled out on
our new Rainbow Park field. The Parks and Rec office tells me that they want
4-6 weeks of root growth before playing and, well the sixth week ends on the
CB Hat weekend. We could be playing on some fine new grass! (see attached
picture)

Howdy!

I have seen the emails and know that all of you wonderful, plastic chasing,
fun-loving folks have more options these days for disc related events. I am
so happy for you!



The Crested Butte Hat reservations are half full (65). If you know you are

Free camping. Water, beer, coffee, discs, catered dinner, party, band, bike
parade, ultimate, disc golf, more biking, evening disc entertainment and a
chance to see a Cock D a Cow. Not to be confused with a cock-a-doodle-doo.



I was talking with some friends at GRASS in Broomfield a couple weeks ago
and it sounds as if a few teams are working on this idea; if they bring
their club team to Crested Butte for [1] some higher altitude training, [2]
socialize as a team with a relaxed atmosphere to bond as a team and [3] play
hard without pressure working on their improvements, it could be a smart
team-tactic for the "Fall Series" run!



As for the non-series players; bring it. It's just good ultimate, good
party, great band, great food and a chance to play all sorts of disc of
three days and maybe squeeze in a bike ride.



The band, Solar Junkyard has been booked along with a caterer for an evening
of impressive food and funky vibes.

SAVE THE DATE! - Officially, the Crested Butte Hat has been revived and set
for August 22-24, 2008. <http://www.cbhat.com> www.cbhat.com - Web site is
updated and more info will be posted as it becomes available. We had a very
successful first year bringing the CB Hat back to the Colorado tournament
schedule. More people relayed that the skill level was high and the teams
were really well matched. We're pushing for the same level (or better) of
participation this year! Ink it on your calendar.

Friday Aug 22 - (evening) Cups/Frickets Tournament, Flashflight and night
games. Camping right next to the fields.

Sat Aug 23 - (all day) Breakfast, Ultimate Hat Tournament, Dinner (night)
Bike Parade, Party, Band.

Sun Aug 24 - (mid-late morning) 18 hole Disc Golf Tournament. (Mountain
biking optional)
