Hopefully all of you are playing in or hanging out at GRUB,
the premier local tournament, on July 19th and 20th. GRUB
is a fundraiser and this year Eco-Cycle will receive all proceeds to help create
Zero Waste systems for GRUB and other
mid-size events. Not only that, but Eco-Cycle is helping to make GRUB Colorado˘s
first Zero
Waste Ultimate tournament (and perhaps the first in the nation). You can help
out in many ways:

* Raise donations: see awesome prizes available and more donation specifics
below.
* Volunteer: we need lots of folks to help with fun tasks to make this a
successful Zero Waste tournament. If you can help out anytime between the
evening of Friday July 18th and Sunday July 20th, please email

* Provide food: to offset tournament costs, we˘re looking for generous folks to
provide some salad and / or dessert for the party on Saturday, July 19th. Can

* Participate in the Zero Waste revolution at GRUB. See more details below.

ZERO WASTE
GRUB will be Colorado˘s
first Zero Waste Ultimate tournament (and perhaps the first in the US). This
means
that event planners have designed waste out of the event in every way possible.
You are a huge factor in the success of this Zero Waste tournament. Please:
· Bring a reusable bottle to refill with the fresh
local spring water that will be provided
· Bring snacks in reusable containers (like
Tupperware or plastic bags you can reuse)
· Clif Bars will be provided at the tournament. If
you want to bring more energy bars of your own, please bring Nature Valley,
Power Bar or Clif Bars. We are partnering with TerraCycle, a program that can
accept those specific wrappers to be made into eco-chic accessories. We will
not be able to accept other mylar wrappers in this program, so please avoid
bringing them.
· We will be sourcing our food as local and
organic as possible. We encourage you to do the same.
· Ride your bike or carpool to the tournament.

Zero Waste stations will be provided throughout the
tournament. These stations include a recycling (for all traditional recyclables
including plastic bottles, aluminum cans and foil) and a compost bin (for all
food waste, including meat and dairy, and all non-plastic-lined paper
products). All utensils distributed at the event will be made from compostable
plant starches and all paper products will be compostable too. As long as you
bring
recyclable or compostable materials with you as well, we˘ll have a successful
tournament with virtually nothing thrown in the landfill!

PRIZES
Please help raise funds for our worthy beneficiary,

Collect pledges from friends, coworkers, family, significant
others, bums on the street, etc. Every dollar you raise will help Eco-Cycle
move our community one step closer to Zero Waste (and help make future Ultimate
events Zero Waste as well). Prizes will be awarded for the top donations:

Top individual: One week
stay in a splendid cabin in Steamboat Springs (details TBA)
Top team (the team with the highest collective donation):
Matching Global Cooling t-shirts / jerseys, discs made from
recycled plastic, and beer for every team member.

* Messenger bag

Also, anyone player making a donation of $10 or more (above
base entry fee) will get a commemorative pint glass. Giving a donation of $30
or more (above base
entry fee) you will get both a commemorative mini Flash Flight disc and a pint
glass.

Messenger bag and $25 gift certificate from University
Bikes, Green gift basket from Ellie˘s Home Store and Eco-Products
**note: this prize is awarded
based on an individual˘s Zero Waste activities at the tournament and is based
on nomination. Stop by Frisbee Central to nominate yourself or a friend as the
Zero Waste Champion.

Party-winning team:
The team with the most members represented at the end of the
party will win three pounds of fresh Starbuck˘s coffee.
