RE: [denverultimate] Pickup instead of Spring league in the rain?

First off, thanks for the props! (the check is in the mail)

In response to your other email, I did read both the part about the
fields and that you'll be playing summer league. I thought you meant
DSUL summer league on that front. As far as games are concerned, there
is a big difference between 15 regular season games and 8 (that's not
including the tourney games either). From a cost perspective you're
looking at $5 compared to almost $10 per game. That's what I didn't
feel you were being truthful about.

We knew moving leagues out to Dick's was going to be a pain but the
choice was either move it to the best fields in the area and charge $5
more per individual (because of field costs) or keep the league in
Denver and have to cut the number of teams we could support in half for
each division. We personally felt moving made the most sense for the
community.

On a side note, the sponsor bar for the Sunday league is right across
from Dick's and serves food, we're really expecting that to become a fun
place for after game entertainment.

Last item, anyone on the list work in or have connections with video.
We're entertaining a new idea for the Sunday season and could use some
help on that front if anyone is in the industry.

Joe

Because I like Joe and maybe you want to play both days, or Saturdays
are better or whatever reason, and because it really doesn't matter,
those who would like to play pickup at Stapleton- if we get enough
interest- can let me know if they would rather play on Saturday. When I
hear from, say 20 people, I'll make a decision based on the most common
suggestion, which very well may be that there isn't enough interest and
we'll stick with City Park or Wash Park pickup. Can somebody let me now
when these are? Sloan's Lake is a little far for me. This will be the
second to last email I send out on the subject, unless I need a petition
signed on my behalf to allow me to play Spring League. And if anyone is
in doubt, Joe is a very standup guy and is working hard to make CUA the
great league it is.

So $75 seems a lot for 8 games in the spring when a few games are
cancelled due to weather and there are no kegs. And I really don't need
any jerseys. Maybe we could get some people interested in some pickup
instead which is free.

I'm not sure of the times and locations anymore, but would like to throw
out the new Central Park in Stapleton as a possibility. It gets day long
sun so, unlike Wash Park or City Park, has been snow free for the last
2-3 weeks, just sitting there unused. It's also in great shape because
it's so new.

If you're interested hit Reply All and maybe we can start a good, cheap
alternative to Spring League on a high quality field. Not as high
quality as Dick's which has the finest fields in Colorado (and there
probably aren't any better in the US), but certainly cheaper and
hopefully just as fun.

For the hell of it, we can just say Sunday at 2pm. it's on Martin Luther
King Blvd a few blocks east of Quebec at Syracuse or so.

Sorry Joe, but $75 is close to the prohibitive mark... though it won't
stop me from playing Summer league. $60 sounds okay and you can skip the
jerseys...

Brendon
