Brendon; I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed you'd push for pickup
on the same day as league.
To add some truth to what Brendon has tossed out below, the league
guarantees 8 weeks of regular season play plus an all day tournament (9
days total). Each week has two games except our second week of play.
If we are able to play all games this season that works out to $5/game.
Pretty darn cheap considering they're the best fields around. In
addition, the $75 price is actually related to the fields, not the
jerseys. The jerseys are only going to happen if we find enough
sponsorship.
We haven't even started talking about the additional stuff you get out
of CUA, such as a season party, season swag of some sort, a sponsorship
bar, organization of all games and fields where you're most likely not
going to hurt yourself.
Each individual can make their own decision but if you're going to toss
something like this out at least be as truthful as possible.

Subject: [denverultimate] Pickup instead of Spring league in the rain?
So $75 seems a lot for 8 games in the spring when a few games are
cancelled due to weather and there are no kegs. And I really don't need
any jerseys. Maybe we could get some people interested in some pickup
instead which is free.
I'm not sure of the times and locations anymore, but would like to throw
out the new Central Park in Stapleton as a possibility. It gets day long
sun so, unlike Wash Park or City Park, has been snow free for the last
2-3 weeks, just sitting there unused. It's also in great shape because
it's so new.
If you're interested hit Reply All and maybe we can start a good, cheap
alternative to Spring League on a high quality field. Not as high
quality as Dick's which has the finest fields in Colorado (and there
probably aren't any better in the US), but certainly cheaper and
hopefully just as fun.
For the hell of it, we can just say Sunday at 2pm. it's on Martin Luther
King Blvd a few blocks east of Quebec at Syracuse or so.
Sorry Joe, but $75 is close to the prohibitive mark... though it won't
stop me from playing Summer league. $60 sounds okay and you can skip the
jerseys...
